Got caught in a stressful purchase bind.

I saw wait. Then when the new one comes out you can weigh it against the old (current) version. Plus, if you decide to go with the old (current) version,

The guy I'm talking about isn't speculation. If it is then he lied about being with the designer, engineer, and something about working with them along with having their signatures after all said and done. People bull **** all the time but this isn't bull **** specially from the owner and creator of a large Nissan organization in ohio.

Yea I can probably get a 2010 with under 10k miles for significantly less money too if I wait a little longer.

I bought my '09 Z new in 09 and have had no problems. HOWEVER, my whole first year of ownership was concerned with reading about and checking for ECU whine, new springs for the back hatch, Steering Lock failure and the effects of no oil cooler, all of which were were problems common to the earlier (and especially first year) 370 Z's and subjects of many unhappy posts and complaints to Nissan. Fortunately, I didn't have to rely on my 370Z as a daily driver and I'm retired so I had the time to visit the dealership for attention to these things (and I didn't care about the oil cooler, as I never track or drive my Z that aggressively). But buying a first year model, particularly when there are major changes, can be a pain. By contrast, I just bought my wife a new Volvo. Her 2013 Volvo was in it's third year of production and it's perfect. No recalls or failures in the 2013 run. No problems discussed on the Volvo forums, etc. So I think I'd either buy the 370Z now or figure on waiting for at least the second year of the new model run. Also, the price might come down a bit, as well, after all the first year hoopla and fuss dies down.

it's September. Weekend warrior. Winter around the corner. I'd ride it out and wait. Man. If I could listen to my own advice I would have waited at least long enough to know whether I'd want the new one or not. But hey, can't complain. Every corner is a thrill. An it's my dd. Sooooo.....

Op I am in the same boat as you. Ready to make the move next year, only thing I cannot decide on is whether to wait for the new Z or go 370. After many discussions with friends it was recommended to at least wait and hear out Nissan sales pitch at Detroit this coming January, rumor is that to celebrate Nissan anniversary they will have the new Z concept at the auto show. You should wait until then at least and see if you wish to go with a Z35. Good luck.

"He who hesitates loses." More historically accurately, "He who hesitates is lost."Applies to much in life but never makes it much easier to make a decision that influences your immediate or distant future. Then there is the Risky Business Tom Cruise quote, “Sometimes you just have to say, What the f*ck.” The statement not the question. I tend to wait too long a miss the window… Yes, I'm in a similar boat with you!!!

What's wrong with purchasing a used now for 10k less and waiting for the renovation? Get SOMETHING fun now!

Buy a new Turbo Hyundai Velosturd and wait out new Z. Then you will truly appreciate Nissans new model rather than being disappointed.

when in doubt wait. that is the best plan of action for me.

and i wouldn't spend money on some other car just because you aren't sure wat you really want. that's a big spending nono.
