Fuel starvation is very real. For me it is a track issue primarily. I need to fill my tank after every 30 minutes on the track or I will get starvation by end of second session and I am still above half tank by two dots.

At Sears Point there is a right hand turn (Turn 2) preceded by a long sweeping left, that nails me every time at 3/4 tank. I once thought it was VDC but with it off it continued.

I can not remember ever experiencing starvation on the street but then again it might feel like VDC so I am unsure.

Cossie, you are driving your car the way it was meant to be driven. Of course the car was meant to have a better fuel system too.

Best of luck.

Is this fuel starvation something that is fixed on newer models? If not, how much of a problem is this really for a person that sees only street driving?

Haboob 07-24-2013 11:03 AM

I've not heard of a '13 doing it, then again, maybe we just don't drive it the same...

I don't have any curves like that to try on.

Yeah I've never had such problems on my 10' has 9k miles, I have taken turns left and right with 2 dots on my fuel gauge before with no hiccups.. I also was only going 15-25mph.

The fix was mentioned once in this thread. ;)

This is not a daily street driven problem for most. I fill my tank at half, to keep the fuel pump immersed and cool. I live on a winding mountain road and this is not a problem for me, except at the track.

have your fuel pump checked out at the dealer, they should be covered under warranty

No I have a 2012. I had it happen twice last weekend on the track. It happened during 3rd session, and I forgot to top up before 4th session-so it did it again on the exact same turn.
