370 PSA, fill up your tank or turn left only

I don't want to say too much except I had to be towed to the gas station again. This is my third tow related to fuel starvation. I had about 6 or 7 dots on my gauge, but apparently that isn't enough for street driving. So do yourself a favor, keep the tank fill or prepare to get stranded or run over by trucks at the on ramp.

How fast are you taking these turns???
And maybe your fuel pump is on it's way out as well

Wonka2581 07-23-2013 02:24 AM

:iagree: cant you just turn everything off and just turn the car back on?

Why tow?

Air bubble in the system f's the whole thing, having a full tank of gas helps immensely

ok, but when you turn off the hole car and you go to restart it does the fuel system not reprime it self,

Yeah, I was trying to edit, but normally when you hit fuel starve, you need 5ish gallons of gas to get it restarted and even then, you might drain your battery... If OP was at 6-7 dots, I don't see why he couldn't get it started...

Wonka2581 07-23-2013 02:59 AM

ok got ya

cossie1600 07-23-2013 03:12 AM

40 to 45mph. It's not that I was taking the turn fast. I hit the gas after the corner, that's what essentially killed it. Turning it off you risk even harder to get started. You are best praying that gas will return. Such stupid of me, why do I trust the stupid fuel gauge. I need to fill up every 3 days instead of once a week argggg

DEpointfive0 07-23-2013 03:31 AM

Yeah, I don't have that problem
I feel your fuel pump is on it's way out especially if you've fuel starved before

cossie1600 07-23-2013 03:34 AM

I wish it was that easy of a fix, but I guarantee it will do nothing. The pump simply gets no gas once the reserve runs out inside the little container and all the fuel sloshes to the left side. We need Nissan to put a revision on that motherf-ing part.

I find this issue so weird. I have gone down to 1 dot multiple times and once it went down to 0 dots but I've never had a problem. Usually I'm not on the accelerator much when I'm down that low because I just want to get to the gas station but I definitely been on the gas and corners with less than 7 dots.

I've been on both ends. I've dropped all the way down to zero dots no issues what so ever 5-6 dots and a double clover on ramp put me on the side of the road. I was definetly pushing it when it cut out though not exactley "street driving" I just take it slow when I'm down below half a tank :ugh2: thanks Nissan

Were you able to get it started or did you need a tow?

Yep it is a very bad design. And as you have noticed the pump can't prime when that container is empty and the only way to get it to prime is to fill the tank full enough that the gas goes over the walls of that little container.

Sucks for your troubles :(

Isn't 6-7 dots almost half a tank? :icon14:
