I got into a boxter before i bought my 370 and i couldnt fit in it properly (i'm 6 1) it was an older model 57/08 maybe. But as soon as i got into it i new i couldn't live with it. plus the old boxsters looked a little hair dressery. When i got into the z it fit me, it felt manly, it felt sturdy and ready to be thrashed around and so did the price haha it had everything and fell just...just in my budget! the boxster was just too small for me.

Saying that though the new ones look absolutely stunning & anyone with a new one should hold their head high. mate your car looks pretty damn sweet. Up until i saw that photo i had always thought i would look into a cayman s in a few years when my financials are better but i think i would be looking at a used 2013 boxster s just to have the option to put the roof down lol, just so long as their is more space in them. It's just a shame their options list isn't a little simpler haha, the z there are 3 options surely porsche could whittle it down to 5 options for the none s and s haha.

On a different note my dad has just ordered his f type s (v6) so looking forward to having another go in that cheeky little bad boy haha. i did the jag racing day a couple of weeks ago and we drove all their r versions managed 161 in jag xjl (that was actually madness) well over 155 (wasn't looking at the speedo to busy making sure i was braking at the right time) in the f type v6 s and v8s. if he lets me i'll post a pic for yas when it arrives in september.

In the meantime dude, enjoy your car man it's a beaut... i'm gonna go rag the balls off my z at lunch and be all manly n that haha!

No question there is a big difference in feel and refinement. and to feel and hear that flat six over your shoulder is pure magic. The killer for me was the lack of leg room (I'm 6' 2"). And I was on the fence about paying the extra 25-30k. As a side note, I found the Porsche dealerships at the time were willing to discount MSRP by upto 10%.

Have since sold my 370 and will be in the market this next year for another sports car. I stopped at the Porsche dealership the other day and sat in the new Cayman. What a great job Porsche has done with redesigning the interior. Very comfortable. I passed on the salesman's offer to test drive because I knew I would lose all sense of financial responsibility after only a few minutes behind the wheel

Of course I always come back to the Z, but would love to move into a Cayman S. so I'm struggling again with the price difference. And of course other cars of interest come into play at the Cayman price point . Corvette and M3 just to name a quick few. Hands down the Z is a better VALUE at basically 1/2 the price. But no doubt, the mechanical purity and refinement of car like the Porsche is a premium one must come to their own decision on it's worth. I my self struggle with living and never owning such a machine.

Again congrats on your purchase and I tip my hat to you for both pulling the trigger on spending the extra dough, and having the discipline to stay on budget. I can only imagine how any regret about spending the money is quickly washed away by a romp thru the twisters. Enjoy!
After many years, I finally joined the club! What an incredible machine.

I'll stick w/my ~Z~ for now...@6'6"275 plenty of legroom with my A/7 315whp SilverBullet! I enjoy building a quick car...as i have seen quite a few quick Porsche's.
918 Hybrid Spyder's are cool.

As far as smoking the Z, by which I think you mean 0-60 and 1/4 mile, the answer is no. If that is the kind of performance you value, then you've got a good car in your hands. But the Z also handles quite well, which is what I value more. Overall, the Z is a good package. Is it the best at it? No, but it's pretty damn good!

The Boxster provides an overall better package in all areas. Was the Boxster worth the 60k for me? I'm enjoying this car, so yes, yes it was. But I only speak for myself, it's my money and I could care less what anyone thinks about what I do with it. Cars for me and like many others are sometimes more about emotion. If I had the money, I'd throw it down on a 458 and live in a 1 bdr condo.
I have a 2014 Z and I was looking for another convertible to replace my 2012 Miata. I had 4 Miatas in my life time and I really enjoyed the overall performance of the Miatas. I wanted something different. I ended up with a 2013 Boxster S. All I can say is I don't think I can go back to a Miata. The Boxster S has all the power you want and at the same time rides like a lexus. I am older now and I totally appreciate the finer things in life.

Nice a Z and Boxster!

I've kicked around the idea of getting back into 370Z for an every day driver...would just need winter tires. Right now still need a sedan for the DD for family things.

Thanks....its not 718 though...i managed to find a new 981 GTS...I definitely wanted the NA 3.4 L with the 6spd...hard to find these days considering the NWO of FI smaller displacement engines.
