 I was thinking the same thing  That or the fact that they are different years means that the material (leather) would have come from a different batch(animal) so the materials will be slightly different. Anything like that will be slightly different between runs they can only make so many pieces out of one hide and hide to hide will vary in what the leather looks like on the parts.
