Jack Stand Question

the recessed area will cup the little bump on the bottom of the car where the jack point is to hold in place. i suggest you take a look under the car with a mirror tool or drag your hand along the jack point area to see/feel what im talking about.

i think putting weight on just one side of the V shape holder of the jack is dangerous.

I'm 41 years old & bought my first jack today! Got the Arcan from Costco. Now I need to get me some jack stands. Probably won't the the HF ones. HF is great for stuff you're going to use once and / or doesn't endanger your life. I'll spend a few extra $$ and get something non HF. The Griot's garage ones are sexy, but I'd have to sell the car to be able to afford them.

Strange, most people I talk to rate HF pretty high and recommend them. Also, the HF Jack/stands are not made by HF FYI.

I found a magnetic pinch rail adapter online. The website is zl1addons.com. I just placed it on the pinch rail at the front jacking point, and my floor jack lifted the whole side of the car. Didn't even scratch the paint on the pinch rail.

That's their "Universal" model, right? Do the bottoms of the pads come out lower than the bodywork for sure? Or can you snap a pic of one installed, from the side, showing the clearance? These look like they would be awesome for use with my low-rise lift

It is the universal. I buy a lot of stuff on Amazon but ordered this from ZL1ADDONS. The owner shipped the universal to me to try. He said, if I liked it, to pay through paypal. If not, just send it back. Excellent customer service.

It is metal to metal but hasn't even blemished the paint.

that's good to hear. the coating is pretty thick down there. i suppose i'd QD that area before using it though.
