Any automatic Z owners walk out their car in Drive or Reverse?

Yeah I thought the first thing you learn from driving a car is put it in park before you turn it off. I can see leaving it in D, but

You can't seriously blame the push button. Sure ergonomic specialists should have put some kind of safety feature to keep the car on while in gear (unless the emergency shutdown procedure was activated). But in a regular turn key car you put the car in park BEFORE shutting the car off; your muscle memory shouldn't be affected by the push button until the point where you reach to turn the key and notice it's not there. If what you've been doing all along is try to turn the key to shut the car down, the key won't turn, THEN you realize you're still in gear then you've been bad all along and really shouldn't be on public roads with others.

Once or twice I could understand as a fluke occurence. **** happens. But if **** is happening to you all the time then you may need to reevaluate whether or not you're a danger to yourself and others.

OP, your either new to the car or your trolling. Unless you drive a MT or a bicycle, you should never left it on the street in driving gears. There is no excuses of doing it weekly basis.

Plus there's the question of... Can this car be shut off in drive or reverse???

Sounds like trolling to me. I think the auto's have safe guards against it.

Correction. Just tried it but it lets off an alarm if you do so... the alarm should keep you from doing anything horrendously stupid like actually leaving the car.

Really? Where did the OP blamed the push button for anything, amazing what a little question can do to people....

Are you retarded and can't read between the lines?!
Ok let me spell it out for you, I am very used to just turning off the keys (push start) bc of manual cars and motorcycles! Did you fail grammar and comprehension school?

And for the post that had the accident flying into someone's house.... I seriously doubt my car will do that in any gear with the engine off. And you sir is a retard too for the ludicris comparison

Man... Can't believe this silly thread of making fun of my own habits turned into a complete douchebaggery from some 'perfect Mona Lisa' forum members. Don't worry, we won't judge your insecurities. Let it all out on the Internet big guy!

Still no blaming visible to me, just that he mentioning of having a push button. Anyway, your childish name calling just shows you are too immature to actually drive any vehicle. I assume you are one of those guys tailgating and pulling guns on people who do your wrong in traffic. You should be ashamed or at least embarrassed to call people retarded. Have seen those forums over and over, always the one or other, insecure and living in moms basement, brave to make comments they would never do face to face. Ahhh, the animosity of the internet, what a curse. Enjoy the rest of your pathetic live kiddo

Let me try to beak this down because there's clearly miscommunication here...

^I wasn't calling you a troll, I was responding to the guy below. I highlighted YOUR text to show him what he clearly misread. Perhaps YOU missed the "grammar and comprehension school" (I'm rather certain you mean class).

Also, regarding your habits. It may never come down to destroying someone else's house. It's a drastic scenario. But what did you really think was going to happen? A bunch of people are going to tell you it's perfectly normal and it's fine to continue doing it? No, you're putting yourself in a bad situation by not correcting your driving habits and we're making sure you know it's not ok. Just because you think something won't happen doesn't make it not happen. By continuing to "accidently" leave the car in gear on a weekly basis you're allowing the possibility that the car is going to get away from you. It just needs to happen once.

^Now, OP has stated several times that he's not used to the push start/stop and that is what is causing him to leave the car in gear. Yes, you are an idiot for missing it twice now.

I would also call you a retard to your face if we met on the street because everything you're saying is retarded. I don't know how you extrapolated the whole "in mom's basement" stereotype from but I can only assume you're speaking from experience. Clearly you're the kid in mom's basement trolling forums because you're the only one here making ridiculous comments without ever really knowing what you're talking about. Personally I'm only subscribed to this forum and I've met many of the Z drivers in the area, if they made a comment as stupid as you I would be the first to let them know. Today, it's just you.

Most of what I've driven is autos, 1 time per car is reasonable but 1x a week, uncouth.

It's not a bad habit to just set your e-brake. Manual drivers usually have this habit, and it doesn't really hurt in an auto. (Unless you forget to disengage it, but that's your problem.) Thankfully I already do this in my current car, so not worried about it in the Z, despite the lack of a key to grab out.

Asking someone who forgets to put the car in Park to add setting ebrake seems futile, don't you think?? They can't remember to do the most basic procedure, let alone add one to the routine.

About 25 years ago I went to a local strip joint with some buddies. Was driving my parent's car. Don't even think I was old enough to drink yet, but ofcourse I had been. At the end of the night I came out and the car was not where I parked it. I thought "Oh Sh*t, someone stole my Dad's car. Explaining this isn't going to go over very well." After a couple minutes of freaking out I noticed the car was about 50 yards down the parking lot in the weeds. I had left it in drive and the parking lot had a pretty good slope to it. No damage... needless to say I was very relieved.

Can't believe I jumped in here either, but in the manual i believe it says it will activate the braking safety thing if your ebrake is on and you try to go over 5mph
