Nismo Badging on a Nismo Conversion?

Buddy calm down, i appreciate your feedback you're among friends. I'm not directing any of my frustration on you and only you. Can we not have a healthy debate on a forum? I only recently decided on what I'm going to do, and it also created an interesting topic for me to discuss.

Furthermore I had 2 hrs to kill at the airport so if my lengthy post seemed like I was just ranting without merits I apologize. But those are my thoughts.

I agree, DM, I'm not being hostile towards you about being a Nismo owner who is butthurt about a "non-Nismo" having "Nismo" badging, just trying to have a conversation, and I KNOW a few people who are those Nismo owners who will/do get butthurt, lol

And hey, who gave you the lead on the guy who would mod your illuminated kick plates? LOL

I think that's a pretty bold assumption. How the heck are nismo owners any different than the other 1231823123 people who post here? Are we going to single nismo owners out and shame them? Cool I'll go first I guess. Where is this coming from?

Bottom line is that you can build a car that outperforms a nismo and maybe even looks just like one, but you can't "convert" a car to a nismo.

To answer your last question, my red LED kick plates shipped and I installed them last week and they look pretty great. I feel bad for the dude who did them. I can't imagine the headache.

Serious guys, I am a Nismo owner and I never hated or looked down non-nismo owners. Nor I see most Nismo owners here started to offend non-nismo owners. I don't give a $$$ about putting a nismo badge on or what. Matter of fact, I am happy there are people like Nismo model and want to promote it.

But what I am not cool about is the non-nismo owners being so sensitive and talk $$$ about the Nismo everywhere. It's like you spend money on swift springs and FI CBE and I tell you you just wasting your money and not being any faster then my stock Z. What's up with that.

Get used to it bro. It was the same way over in My350z forum with the 350 Nismo. I don't really understand all the hater comments myself... its not like you see Nismo owners making comments claiming that our trim level is superior over others... all I see is non nismo owners saying we wasted 10k dollars... blah blah.

Exactly. It's like us Nismo owners just mind our own business here. But ever since somebody started Nismo topic, we are buried under rice rocket, over priced, underpowered, overweight. Oh well, now I started to believe haters gonna hate IS true.

I did not start this thread so people can jump on a "Let's talk smack about Nismo" bandwagnon fan club.

I deeply feel for Nismo owners that are voicing concerns about people attacking them for wasting their $ on their cars. Like I said earlier, the $ spent is over rated.

Some people just want to buy their car with the things equipped from stock for a couple of years to enjoy and if they don't like it, they can then upgrade (whether itd be seats, suspensions, whatever) - while some people just want to drive it as is. Either case is up to you.

I'm sure someone's gonna say how the factory's Bose Nav or the leather seat isn't as good as what you can get aftermarket with the same cost.

In my case, I had to choose between upfront to enjoy for a couple of years:
-The Nismo w/ all the performance benefits and the fancy the Nismo body
-Sport/Touring w/the luxuary amenities
Unfortunately in my case I couldn't have both.

I do finding it interesting that there are some strong believers that once it's not a Nismo to begin with "It SHALL NEVER BE A NISMO". I thought the NISMO plaque in the back bumper is just saying you're supporting Nissan Motorsport while some Nismo owners hold dearly that it's something a car cannot replicate as if it's some kind of cult that can be joined only if you have a #. Otherwise, "It's not a NISMO." It's an interesting fact though isn't it?

I do support exclusivity and find it good that Nissan created the Nissan 370z Nismo model for people to buy to help support their Nissan Motorsport Passion but I don't agree with the "if I never got a Nismo from the beginning as it was never built and BRANDED as one, it shall never be." Nor do I agree with or appreciate the "Wanna be something I'm not" statements. - It just makes the Nismo 370z people sound more like a cult.

Because what is a Nismo? What makes up a NISMO? The authenticity plaque in the center console? What if I were to buy a Nismo and take out Nismo Seats, Suspension, exhaust? Is it still a Nismo? If you were to start off with a Nismo and start switching out performance parts, you're just as much as a "wanna be something you're not".

Please don't tell me to calm down because I'm not upset. I don't even understand why you're "frustrated". There's nothing to be frustrated about. I went through this same internal debate re: my '09. You asked for people's opinions and got them. I don't understand why this keeps taking a weird hostile turn.
