You send him yours and the display and he sends it back... Like 400.. I just did that because everywhere around here wanted like 350+ to etch the mirror and they couldn't guarantee a positive result since it would their first time doing something like that... For this radar... I thought the price was worth it...
thanks!

I've pretty much decided to go with the V1 for my birthday. March 28 can't get here quick enough!

Has anyone tried mounting it above the rear view mirror? It looks like it would fit, not sure if the black dot matrix affects the signal though.

Heard the Passport 9500xi was good because of the GPS system. It stores all the false alarms and they wont go off once they are identified as "false." Valentine 1 (V1) has direction arrows on the radar detector to tell you where the signal is. Research and pick which one you like. Don't get a Cobra, biggest piece of poop and waste of money.

the 9500xi is a stand alone dash mount and no laser shifters.
K, Ka, X, POP, LASER, GPS

The 9500ci is a full stealth install with laser shifters. (requires a pretty involved custom install)
K, Ka, X, POP, LASER, GPS + LASER SHIFTERS

I have both (xi on my truck, ci on my Z) both are good, the ci is waaaay more fun!

xi 400 bucks
ci 2000 bucks installed

The Beltronics work awesome. I have one in my 4Runner and Z. Couldn't drive without one. I've been using one for 8 years with zero tickets. They do work!

Also if anyone is interested in an Escort radar system.. They do in house financing...no credit checks... Directly off your debit card... For example.. If you wanted a 9500ci like I did.. I paid 555 up front (including next day shipping) and 100 a month gets debited off my card on the 16th every month till its paid for( or whatever day you choose) check out all the different ones at www.escortradar.com

I just flew by a Colorado popo and his laser pistol. Shifters shifted. Driver downshifted. Goodbye popo buck Rogers. Better luck next time

You should slow down and kill the jammers quickly. That way you don't draw any extra attention to the jammer community.

Most cops think jammers don't work, and we want to keep it that way so they don't put effort into defeating them.

Jammers can be defeated when you use the right equipment and techniques.

Stealth is our friend.

I agree. I always disarm and slow (hence downshift comment-engine braking no brake lights.).

I like to let the tax collector get a good read on me on his second shot. That way he thinks it was a gun malfunction.

The funny thing is I don't really even drive fast. (5-10 over usually.). I just hate being harvested to support out of control local spending.

I'd rather spend 2000 buck on ECM then 500 on tickets.

I could use something very stealthy. These are not legal here, and most traps are laser (lidar) and also speed measurement via aircraft

might not be legal up here for us but I am still considering getting one, we would obviously need the best of the best since it is illegal for us which is why I am leaning towards the 9500ci to help stay stealth. Not to mention the laser shifters which is exactly what we need for our Lidar traps
GaleForce and SurfDog like this.

in Colorado, LADAR "jammers" are not legal, but radar and Laser DETECTORS are. So when I had mine installed, the techs were very careful to tell me that the unit comes shipped with the LADAR "shifter" turned off, and that they were not allowed to turn them on for me. They also very carefully explained the process to turn it on/off. (10 seconds tops from the control head, its about like adjusting the volume)

So, if you are in a "jammer illegal, but detector legal" state, you are still good to go to get one professionally installed. Then its up to you to decide when and where to turn the jammers on.

Or just install it yourself, but its pretty involved and you have to pull out a LOT of trim, open the stereo up for a good power lead, unzip your steering wheel, and probably the bumper too. Fun if your a preficient install guy, (I am not THAT good)

That's why I like the paddle shifters in the Maxima... Downshift and engine braking...

The Sport SRM works well too. Unfortunately I usually keep it off so I just pump and dump then hang on!!!
