Question What radar detector you use?

Hey guys
I've used cobra old version on my Titan.
And i need another one on my new Z to enjoy driving.
I researched radar detector reviews.
They say escort passport 9500ix is best.
Price is above $400.
Is there any good stuff you would recommend?
Thank you.

i have the 9500ix, love it. The gps feature is great 'cause it will block out the false signals (like automatic doors at stores). I read somewhere the V1 does a little better for long range detection. However, i'll say from experience that my 9500ix picked up a cycle cop from at least a half mile away and he was coming the opposite direction going down I-95. Gave me plenty of time to slow down.

I just returned an ESCORT Passport 9500ix GPS Enabled Radar Detector. It was wonderful, only thing I disliked was its visibility on the dash. If you can live with this it worked well. It spoke and told me when I approached a red light camera, which band or laser. It learned the traditional false alarms such as grocery store doors stopped after three alerts.

Being visible to thieves but mostly to the police who must see these detectors as reasons to write a ticket caused me to send it back after 30 days. They have another remote detector the 9500ci but it costs about $2000 installed. Just a bit more than I want to spend.

PASSPORT 9500ix - Escort Inc.

I have the Beltronics STi Driver....

Very good detection but it now has a problem and Beltronics won't replace it.

Every now and then it reports "Service Required", this is a common problem and is caused by an over heating issue.
Once this has occured the unit reports it randomly, and a power cycle or reset does not solve it.

The fix is a firmware/software upgrade that has to be done by Beltronics.

Now they are very strict about the vendors/resellers that can sell their product, and they are listed on their website.

Amazon is one of the listed supported vendors, so I got my unit on Amazon.
Now it's developed a problem, I contacted Beltronics and they refuse to fix the problem.

They say..... the unit was not sold by Amazon, it was sold by a seller/vendor via Amazon, so they do not have to support the product.
What kind of BS is that....???

This applies to all Beltronics products, so unless you plan on buying direct from Beltronics or an "authorized" vendor, then don't bother buying their products.

I'd only had the radar dectector about 2 weeks before it failed, and it cost $500.
So now I'm p*ssed that it displays an error all the time, and they wont fix it.

And by the way the Amazon Vendor won't replace it either, the warranty on the product is Beltronics so they won't replace it, they say talk to Beltronics.

I have the beltronics v995. It cost me $269.95. It is comparable to Esort 9500i model without the satellite GPS, and works just as well just without that feature. You also don't get the option of buying blue LED lights when you go bell but its a great value. I've evaded 3 lasers, 2 X-band and 2 Ka-band signals in 3 months. My only issue it picks up a lot of false alrms in K-band only, I gotta check my manual and try to block K... other than that, No tix, No BS. Good price. I love it... I don't run red lighs so the GPS help isn't needed.

I have a Beltronics RX65 and it has served me very well. Great range and sensitivity and I was able to pick it up for a very reasonable price and the red is a fairly close match to the interior lights and gauges of the Z. I haven't had any real close calls since I don't really go crazy too often but it is great piece of mind when I do which is mostly why I bought it.

9500ix; The GPS is a wonderful addition and is what made me choose it over the V1. I do mostly city driving, so it was natural that I chose the 9500ix. The only thing I dislike about it is that the 9500ix only comes in the blue led lights, while I would prefer to have the red lights that were available on the 9500i, V1, or even the 8500.

For anyone in the florida area or even in the south, technicar sounds like a great option. Read a review of a renntech c63 amg mercedes, that had the whole laser jammer/radar dectector built into the review mirror.

I have an older Passport Solo S2. Hasn't failed me yet. I would love to upgrade, but can't justify the cost at this time.
