I know in Houston, before they were removed, we had a 3rd party human factor put into place for those reasons.
Right on red - thrown out
Stopping - thrown out

Basically it was because the lights were so sensitive to any movement and people complained so much we hired a firm to put in a human check. It worked and people stopped complaining.

To me, if you know your area fairly well and know where the cops like to hide, it's not necessary to have one. If you take long trips via the highway across the state, it can be quite beneficial; as it has saved my rear a few times!

Wrong.

I take the same way home every day. For the first time in a year of driving home this way at 0800, I saw a state trooper where there had been none before.

Cops may not all be shining examples of blazing intellect, but even a backassward hillbilly knows how to hunt a deer, and setting up to hunt motorists isn't much different. Sometimes you move the deer stand.

Yes, indeed. Remember, too, that catching speeders and such is one of their prime obeectives and many troopers, etc., put a great deal of thought and practice into it.

Judging by some of their hiding places and tactics I have seen you are very right.

I rock a V1 and would not use anything else. Here in NC (Raleigh) you are subject to get hit still w/xBand although KA seems to be the preferred method by Five-0 to bust you. I have used a few other and nothing works for me like the V1....hands down!!!

I rock an Escort Solo S2 Cordless, hasn't failed me yet.
K-Band
Ka-Band
X-Band
and Laser
In west texas Cops use Ka, sheriff K and motorcycle highway patrol radar.

Steve,
Beltronics and Passport are the same company which is in Ontario Canada. You cant buy them here though since they are illegal. Just google the sti-r or undetectable radar and you will get to a Canadian website where you can buy the detectors but depending on where you live you might need a more expensive undetectable model.

V1 integrated into my HUD in the z06, kept it and putting it ib my 370z when it gets back from v1. It glitched out and randomly threw "E"s on me :/

Default Passport escort 9500ci

Passport escort 9500ci!!!!!!!!!!!!
This thing is incredible: 2 sensors mounted in the front and one mounted in the rear- The thing sends off all readings everynight and filters through the fakes (grocery stores etc). Picks up redlight cams, speed cams the whole 9 yards. Incredible even has an led that flashes so you can just mute it and still know that they are still around. Everything for mine was custom mounted and looks good no wires or anything sticking to the windshield.
