Off when you track the car or are prepared to adjust to what the car does. If you want to really learn what the car does with it off, I would drive it on the track with an instructor or a wide open road or parking lot. As far as the rain goes, its ALWAYS on. Never try to out drive what the car can do. Just when you think you know how to drive, this car can bite you in the *** !

I keep VDC off nearly all the time. I don't like how the car delivers the power with VDC on. I can also drive with VDC off/on during the rain or snow, it doesn't bother me either way.

Someone menttioned breaking the tires loose in third... How the hell does that happen? WOT w/ turbo and a 90 degree corner?

I have noticed the same thing about the car being more spirited with it off, to the point where I've been thinking about rewiring the VDC to be in the "normally off" condition.

If you learn how, would you please let me know how you did it please.

On for the twisties? Interesting. It is exiting a corner when I'd most want it off anyway.

I used to be one who left it on and was scared from hearing the stories, I remember turning it off first time and gunning it in 1st on a turn, lol....wooooooooooo...almost lost it...

But now, its off all the time, I only fish tail or slide when I am 'trying' so I have obviously learned how the car behaves much better. Knowing how to take a corner helps too lol
Those stories had me thinking I'd crash for sure. When I did turn it off, I found out the 370Z is a car, not a ticking time bomb.

To those who told stories such as this I offer you advice that is just as good. Do not use a public restroom or you will become diseased.

I can break the tires loose in third. Straight line, heavy foot on the big pedal to the right, cold, worn tires. Easy peasy. I will attempt to conduct this test later this month after I get my new Michelin PSS's.

Base Brakes are ok. The pads and fluid need an upgrade, but they more than suffice for street driving and most track purposes.

Base suspension sucks? I disagree.

The tires (whether the Yokies or the Potenzas) aren't terrible.

I have a set of upgraded Firestone tires, forgot the series. My car grips and goes for the most part.

Unless I'm driving on the highway, I keep the VDC off. It's WAY too obtrusive.

I really, really, really, really wish there was a way to turn off the traction control and leave on the stability control (like you can on the Corvette).

Every time I take a corner even remotely fast with the VDC on, it cuts power just as I'm about to get "on it". That sucks, big time. It doesn't allow even a little bit of slip or wheel spin.

My dad used to have a 280z. So he loves to drive my car.
First time he hopped it, he asked " where's the button to turn the traction control off. "

I only really turn it off when my driving is 'spirited'. Otherwise I just leave it on, cause I dont pay it any mind.

I almost drive exclusively with it off now (in nice socal weather) unless its raining or something. The problem is it kicks in a bit too much with hankook tires. I didn't start doing this until after I drove on the track and had a lot better of the limit of my car.
