Right on, Kenny. I am a purist as well. A sports car is RWD and has only two seats. The Cayman and the 370 are the only two sports cars I see in that group.

By your logic, then is the GTR not considered a sports car?

These are examples of sports cars; MX5, 370Z, Cayman, boxster, E type, BRZ, FT86, Z4, TT, 911, Alfa GTV, Fiat X1/9, Corvette.

These are examples of what is not sports cars; Kia coupe, ford capri, mazda 3 mps, Camaro, any 4 door sporty sedan, any coupe based on a sedan.

These are examples of supercars; GTR, Aventador, McLaren F1 and the fax machine, 911 turbo.

These are examples of muscle cars; mustang, camaro, charger.

So, clearly it's open to interpretation, but there are general guidelines given on what a sports car is.

I wouldn't quite count any Mini in on being a sports car, in my opinion. Nor a Scion.
