It took about 4 hours to do the install most of the time was spent planning out the install and confirming that I was tapping into the correct wires and understanding the function of the relay.

Installed the relay inside the passenger foot well cover.
Installed the DEI 507m under the center console cup holder.

I got it hooked up tested it and the alarm went off

Then I cleaned up the wiring and closed her up.

nice job! i never got around to this. the relay and sensor are sitting in my closet. how did you wire the relay anyway?

Thanks!!

The relay is pretty simple.
Basically when the relay has no power it is in a position to supply ground to the DEI 507 activating it.

When the relay has ACC 12V+ is switches and breaks the ground to the DEI 507 deactivating it.

Once I understood how the relay worked it was a piece of cake.

I got the relay at Radio Shack for about $10 I tested the operation of the relay using the current from the cig lighter outlet.

If I had to do it again it would take me less than an hour.
