They start out at like $700 to begin with

I want the TCA-F style with Aspherical Blue Mirrors (convex) and the TC-R base. I haven't actually gotten a quote, so I don't know the exact price. But I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the mirror lens upgrade is $250 or more.

Hmm...

I like those better than the CF ones, but still. I'm not sure they actually fit the car... I kind of like that the stock ones are the same color as the car.

I have thought about painting the mirrors and the base to match my car

I think I've pretty much decided to stay away from carbon fiber on the exterior of my Z.

Dude -- I was not even moving when she hit me. She was estimated at 60 in a 40 mph zone. She went into full wheel lock and BAM.
