Now that's what I'm talking about. True enthusiast.

This evening I washed and waxed just in time for the big storm tomorrow. Can't wait! At least it isn't yellow anymore.

I'm on Oahu and I find a way to get atleast 50 miles per day lol.

Yesterday we drover nearly 9 hours on the newly installed Boosted Perfomance twin scroll turbo kit to get a tune. I was the first person other than Boosted Performance to install one of their kits. I'm very happy with things considering I installed the turbo last Saturday and drove to PA on Wednesday without an issue (first real drive after install).

Today we drove to R/T Tuning and made some good numbers. Check my build thread for details.

Best I got was from a soccer mom who stalked me around the Dulles parking lot

"If you keep driving like that you're going to kill someone"

to which I replied

"I hope it's you"

haha good one. weird thing happened after I read this. i got stalked too lol

been without my Z for a day since I took my mom to LAX. so as soon as i got it I took a two lane road through the back woods home. i pass some soccer mom and just fly by her but hit major traffic so she catches up 5 min later and then gets on her phone and is taking pics of my car and licence plate and attempts to follow me home. psycho lady

I'm at almost 3200 miles in about 3.5 months.:driving:

8k in 4mos.

It happens in a DD in a large, spread out city like Phoenix. :(

roy'sz 04-19-2013 11:48 AM

I think honestly mileage is just a number. My dad has his 2006 350 that was a dd and it has 198000 on it. Still performs like the day it left the dealership. As long as you take care of it, it will run. That proves they are built to last.

Very true, but there's still something about me that doesn't want to rack up a ton of miles so quickly. :icon17:

Gotta love soccer stalkers. Happened to me a month ago in my (former) Acura. This woman was coming up the road real slow and I waited before I backed out of my drive to let her pass but then she began stopping at a yield sign IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD and no traffic anywhere to be seen. I'm not honking at 5am so I just went to her left and made my turn leaving her at the intersection. Not more than a second after she was flying to catch up to me. She almost hit me at a stop sign because I think she thought I was such a lawbreaker that I would run the stop sign. I was laughing and thought, this vehicle makes complete stops at real stops signs. So i continue on and she winds up running the stop sign i was just at, tails me, runs the stoplight at the next intersection to stay with me, and then at the following light she gets in the turn-only lane next to me and honks trying to get me attention. I look at her, roll my window down just a crack and said, "no thanks lady" and rolled my window up (im not very witty so thats all i had to say...i hear her yelling about how she knows where i live and she's calling the cops. I was like, ok... do it. But then the light turns green, i go and she makes an illegal merge into forward moving traffic from a turn only lane.

I broke absolutely no laws going around her at a yield sign in a neighborhood. But she thought it was ok to break 4 separate traffic laws to threaten me. I lolled all the way to the office.

Haboob 04-19-2013 12:21 PM

Gotta love those people that yell at you when they do something wrong.

I remember I was getting onto the freeway (had a left turn arrow) and there's the lane coming from the opposite direction that merges onto the freeway on-ramp too, with a yield sign, and they are supposed to wait for our two lanes of traffic.

Well, needless to say this giant F350 decides a yield sign doesn't mean what it says and forces me to cut off the guy in the next lane (I had room, but just enough) and the F350 guy proceeds to flip me off and yell obscenities throw his window. :icon17:

I have had so many of these incidences out here in Phoenix I can't even remember them all. All of these people from other cities think the way they drive is the right way when they're clearly breaking local laws.

I adjusted my Berk CBE so it was not rattling on the middle cross brace. Stole someone's idea of using stainless steel hose clamps and tightening them on the rubber exhaust hangers so they do not sit as low. It was a quick 20min fix!

JARblue 04-19-2013 12:58 PM

contacted a tuner in central texas about using my Z as their guinea pig

That's my plan tomorrow! To fix the exhaust! Thanks for the links too.

A friend of mine gave me some of this stuff for free today

http://www.thelowerleft.com/thelower...tal-polish.jpg

I bought myself one of these

http://www.fordforumsonline.com/foru...-steelwool.gif

I will be using it on my exhaust when I get home

I plan to clean it with some light soap first and then hit with the steel wool and cleaner and then polish it again with the cleaner

Don't use the steel wool, it will scar the finish on the pipes. Its ok to use soap and water but you will get swirl scratches on your exhaust....

JARblue 04-19-2013 01:43 PM

:iagree: I used Adam's Metal Polish and Adam's Metal Polish #2 with a microfiber pad, and it did wonders on my exhaust tips, which at the time had been untouched for over 18 months.

Same here! I look at my miles every time I get in my car. By the time I get out, I'm smiling with another 50+ miles on it lol

speedfreek 04-19-2013 01:52 PM

I had some new rubber installed at Nissan today. They assured me they would not damage my wheels. I go to pick it up after lunch.....and both front wheels had been damaged by the tire machine. 2 out of 4 isn't bad :shakes head: So now they are going to refinish the fronts on Monday. I have had nothing but bad luck when getting new tires installed. First time at a recommended tire shop they didn't mess up the wheels but damaged my FI exhaust.

I have been looking at getting aftermarket wheels but with my luck and the ability of shops around here to mount tires without screwing them up I may be better off keeping them stock. Maybe get some varrstoens or something equivalent for them to jack up.

Yeah dont use the steel wool. I just used Turtle wax chrome polish and a terry cloth and it looks like new now.

Waiz 04-19-2013 02:19 PM

My friend just used the same strength steel wool and his exhaust tips were perfect, it's #OOOO abrasive level so it's really fine

This is a technique that professional detailers use so not sure for those of you recommending against it if you have actually tried it or just assuming.
It's a really fine wool, it will hardly scuff the surface at all and this is where I got the idea from:

Exhaust Tip Detailing – Detailed Image

It's just metal guys you can always polish swirls out :)

b15 04-19-2013 02:26 PM

Avoiding the unneeded work I guess. Simple cloth and chrome polish and elbow grease and mine were sparkling without any swirls.

JARblue 04-19-2013 02:27 PM

I still wouldn't use the steel wool on the exterior of the tips unless they are outrageously dirty. A metal polish and soft towel should be all that is required. I hadn't cleaned mine for over a year and a half, and they came out pretty sharp - it would have been a waste of time and product for me to use the steel wool and then have to polish them. Though I will likely consider getting some of the #0000 steel wool for some grime still on the inside of the pipes

Thanks guys for the suggestions!

After running HFC's for two years the inside of the tips are pretty marred, I will give it a go with just soap and water followed with the polish first and then resort to the steel wool on the inside of the tips only if it doesn't work

No problem SC still allows for DD. I'd recommend Stillen at about 500HP level.
That is what I'm going to do in about a year when my savings recovers from all the home improvements I've been doing.

Until then I'll have to put up with my Procharged Firebird. Such a sacrafice. :bowrofl:

Yes, I love silver cars .... Except if it's a Vette. Vettes need to me Red!

Now, I'm going to go for a ride in my newly Zaino'd Z. I'll probably take some pictures on my way and post them later. After than I'll jump in the Vert and go have lunch near the water. Nice Friday.
Yesterday, I cleaned the Z and Zaino'd it. It really sparkles now that should show up well in the pictures today. ;-)

Re adjusted oil thermostat and torqued....loosing oil alarmingly fast and trying to see if its my hoses or consumption...so far it seems like a leak rather than consumption.
