how does this function? what's its purpose?

yah, the front air deflector supposedly minimizes turbulance between the air coming under the car towards the tire, and the air that gets spun around from the tire treads. it's there to improve mpg. so i read.

i removed mine as it looked stupid with my ings splitter. :D

i use WD40 on volume sliders, pots, jacks (TS, TRS, XLR). neutrik is XLR (canon connector) no? WD40 is also my first choice when i need to remove rusted screws and nuts and fasteners and bolts and nuts and screws and..

Oxidation is what causes your contacts to no longer make good connections. There is a fine layer of rust on the contact that needs to be removed. WD40 works only because it has cleaning agents in it but the catch is that its a lubricant so it leaves a thin film on the contact. So you don't get the best connection but chances are its good enough for your purposes. Regular Wd40 is a short term solution, not a long term solution.

The correct way to clean electrical connections is to use a fine grit sandpaper and sand the corrosion away.

If you can't do that, use isopropyl alcohol in a spritzer to spray the contacts. Pretty much all the otc contact cleaners are just isopropyl alcochol. Isopropyl alcohol is used because it evaporates without leaving behind a film on the surface and it breaks down rust fairly well.

yah, if i just need to clean contacts i use my RC car motor spray. WD40 is something readily available in most households that works. that is why i mentioned it. most isopropyl in households are only 70% and takes a while to dry. and leaves behind no lubricants so if your switch had lube, well, you just washed it all out.

got a new shift knob the other day. bad cell phone pic below. its a WC Lathe Werks knob. stainless steel, with matching stainless collar, bronze/blue burnt finish and 6MT shift pattern engraved on the top. not satisfied with the color unfortunately. his website showed much deeper reds/purples/blue. absolutely love the weight though. coming from a PWJDM "balanced weighted shift knob" this thing makes a huge difference in drive-ability. shifts fall right into place and feel so much more solid

i didnt realize how light the pwjdm knob was until i compared the two in hand!! this new knob makes shifting a pleasure

the pwjdm knob's weight imho was acceptable, but that egg shape was just a recipe for slipping out of my hand. :confused:

send him an email/contact through his site. chris is a pretty nice guy. i payed an extra 5bucks to get a matching stainless steel collar when i ordered the knob since he only has the option of a plastic collar on his site. im pretty sure he would make you a custom collar if you just ask as well!


i actually like the pistol shape, but the lightness just threw me off all the time. finally got tired of it and ordered this new knob haha

oh, you had the type1 or version1 or watever. i had the version2 or type2 or watever that thing was called. it had an egg shape at the top. terrible design. was a big waste of $ :mad:

Hi Kenchan, I meant the Neutrik Speakon connectors, not the XLR, sorry, wasn't very clear. Trying to cover entire signal chain!

New brake pads and fluid today. Only one bottle of Motul was used though....:ugh:

They do not do alignments and I didn't ask about corner balancing. I think I will ask about that tomorrow.

True Street Industries does have the ability to corner balance vehicles.

Got new oil hoses, new mocal adapter and new air filters. Pm will be done next Saturday. Tomorrow im driving to palm springs to do my taxes. 275mile drive ahead of me.

Negative. It's pretty warm and dry here today. I'm planning on breaking in the rubber and wheels. Then heading back to the shop to pick up the rest of the lugs and get the new ones re-torqued. (Is that a word?)

Picked up the Z from the shop after the coilovers were installed and now I have to learn how to drive it at the current height. I hit the mid section of the exhaust pipes pretty hard within minutes of leaving the shop.

It's all about angles and dangles with a lowered car.

Repainted front bumper and finished off with four nice coats of 2k clear. Got stillen lip in and will be prepping install for tomorrow.

Drive mine 600+ miles Friday and Monday get to do it all over again, was a blast!

Today, my gf and I went to downtown Melbourne (florida), walked around.. then ate at chipolte's. Also, made 3 people roll up their windows due to the volume and type of music I was playing.. It was a game.. I told my gf, watch this..

put on skrillex song (I cant really stand the music, but had to download at least 1 song), turned up the radio.. and my little 10'' bouncing off the glass in the back vibrated the hell out of all the cars sitting at the light. Made them roll up their windows..
