I 'just' ran across a thread of listing dyno results showing K&N drop ins actually giving a couple HP and some torque. Not as much as Gen3 long tubes or anything, but it's an upgrade from the paper filters.

Jumped my History and found the page.

Enjoy the read. I did.

Thanks for posting, I'm hoping for similar gains. I will be adding Z1 silicon mas-flow intake tubes and a Stillen light weight pulley before my tune! Good times and great start to 2013.

I bought a 550D about a year ago and LOVE it!

I used it for the pics in my albums (minus the GTR button and rearview camera/mirror shots). Phenomenal for the cost.

I think it should be within 5 whp of most with the same setup and a CAI.

 i put mine in after having the car about 6 weeks (?) and had not really even gotten used to the full power yet, let alone feeling more....

In every vehicle I've owned, I've put blood sweat and tears into them. The Z is less than a month old to me, and she has already taken some blood and sweat. ;)

Cleaned the car last Thursday after the rains in the last couple of weeks. Took the car to the So Cal meet in Cerritos on Saturday and met with a big bunch of great 350 and 370Z guys (along with a couple of Infiniti's, M3's, Jeff's BRZ, and a modded Prius.). Everyone was friendly and loved the Z's. Today I'm stuck at home because it's raining again.

Edit: Oh yes, oil change switching from Redline to Amsoil full synth and their special filter.

officially said goodbye to my Z this last friday :( and after doing alot of research these past few days or so decided that a new Z is in order for me, but that i would be patient and wait it out till the end of the year to see if anything changes for the 2014 model year...that and so i can have a bigger down payment this time around :D have to say though having test driven a 2013 Z i came away impressed by the improvements they've made aside from aesthetics which i know is subjective around here, but when seeing it in person it actually looked better than i thought it would.

I thought the same thing when I saw mine. I could have gone either way, fangs or running lights, but I really like the running lights.

I took one for a test drive just for fun. I must say, the mods I've put into mine make it a completely different animal. (see sig) I think the new front is cool, but until they start venting some cooling air to the brakes I'll stick with the fangs (and all my other goodies).

Otherwise the car seems pretty much identical (except for not using Potenzas anymore...Yokohama I think.)

did they put in an oil cooler yet???

Mt Tam I am 01-07-2013 02:29 PM

I was just given my event schedule for track driving this year with cost. I am fine with the price. Laguna Seca, Thunderhill, Button Willow, Sears Point.

March 30th (Saturday – 105db) – LS ($279)

April or May (working on a date) – BW ($189)

June 3rd (Monday – 92db) – LS ($239)

Sept. 22nd (Sunday) – SP ($229)

Oct. 21st (Monday) – TH ($169)

Nov. 24th (Sunday) – SP ($279)

I just wished for another Laguna Seca, but I am happy as a clam. the club won't accept any 90db LS days.

Mt Tam I am 01-07-2013 02:33 PM

I just watched and listened to my car drive off, which is rare. I have my car worked on by others while I work and have the car returned by closing time. Boy Howdy does it sound nice.

I am having the track "squeel and sqeek" pads removed till March and Laguna Seca. We are marking them for reinstall.

as a matter of fact they did start putting oil coolers in for MY 2012 and up, but it is not really good for track use as it is an water cooled solution but stands up well to spirited driving from what i hear.
