I bought my first set of Super Sports in April 2011. Of all the tires I have used in my life, these are the beat performing (street) by far. They grip like crazy and love to be pushed hard. I dod not get as many miles out of my rears as I hoped (about 13,500) and am on my second set.

What did you get out of the stock potenzas? Those have a tread wear rating of 140 compared to the pss's 300 I believe. Or did the 40th have a different tire? I'm not sure

I have much wrench turning to do today.

Have to swap back to street brake pads and put a block off plate in front of my oil cooler.

Wish me luck :)

The treadwear rating is somewhat misleading. Across different manufacturers it is a more or less useless number. The treadwear rating also really only applies to tires you can rotate fore and aft -- which we cannot with the Z with sport or touring packages. The Michelins are warrantied for 30,000 miles, unless you cannot rotate due to staggered setup, in which case the warranty is 15,000 miles.

Anyway, I was down to treadbars on the Potenzas at 16,000 miles (on the rears) and my fronts still had about 5/32" tread. I actually sold my frons to a G-35 guy for 140 bucks.

The super sports are supposed to be a bit less noisy too (I'm told)
