After having to drive the Acura around yesterday, I drove the Z to work today and all is right with the world (except for all the other drivers, who are stupid idiots). Plus, I forgot something at the house, so I'll get that extra drive today :driving:

Drove her to work in a bit more stop and go traffic than usual. I still love the way she sounds but I am craving some HFC or LTH.

While enjoying a beautiful pre rain drive to work this morning, I came upon a new orange Dodge Challenger R/T. This car has zero over our Z on a winding road. I mainly coasted downhill, and I had to brake to avoid over taking him at every turn. As soon as we hit a straight, the guy floored it and took off, he got about 200 feet before a nothing car blocked him. If anyone was racing it was he.

Highschool Kids Know whats cool. :) |
I know how you feel Tam.
Those roads back there are full of guys not really driving their flashy cars. I go twisting around back there sometimes with my sleeping son during his afternoon nap-time. Sitting behind crawlers on all those great turns can be frustrating. Even if its pushing, a big 'ol straight line only beast like a challenger can barely keep up with the grandma driven minivans back up in there. I usually just park on the side a bit to let them get up and out of the way so I don't have to watch them struggle around the bends. It's too hard to witness up close. Besides when you get up behind them their manhood gets threatened and they start driving like the knuckleheads they are (they did by American muscle after all). Better to let them pull away oblivious of how incapable their ride is of negotiating the turns. Its a kindness really. Let them enjoy their day. |
installed my oem style sport spoiler today and removed the 370z logo from the bumper

In related news. For Zman and anyone interested, I set up my camera and tripod trying to catch the difference in hood bulge with the Z1 hood struts installed and without. Well, by eye the difference wasn't really noticeable until I took the pictures with the camera and went back and forth looking at the photos. Very noticeable. I'll see if I can make some kind of slide show alternating the photos so people can see the difference. Long story short, after witnessing it, I had to fix it for peace of mind. How? I carefully heated the area with my Steinel Heat gun (this gun can produce temps up to 930˚F) folded up a microfibre towel lengthwise 4 times and placed it between the hood strut and plastic clutch cover while it was still hot, then closed the hood and let it cool. Then I took with hood strut and without hood strut pictures for comparison and was happy with the results. I also downloaded the new Uprev base map to the ECU today. |
:tiphat: Reps for that, GaleForce! (when they reset of course) and another when you actually post pics

I need to figure out how to make a slideshow/movie thing where the with/without alternate because if I were to post the pictures as is, they look the same... I can install a turbo kit, but I don't know what I am doing when it comes to making a movie out of two photos. :icon14: |
