About to take her out to dinner. Let's see if anyone notices.

Installed my new shift knob today and feels great! Tommy Kaira replica. I actually dropped it when my wife jumped out at me and it was heavy enough that it chipped the tile floor.....lol

Here it is installed.

I ordered mine online & just picked it up at the store. So I really didn't have to deal with em :happydance: you should do the same. It's a great unit

Had movie and dinner with my friends. On the way home, a pimped out truck attempt to race with me. I stayed cool. Finally he pulled up gave me a thumb up and left.

I installed my newly painted door handles.

Oh, and I forgot to post last week when I finished painting my headlights and getting them re-installed.

Helped my Z buddy found a good deal on a set of coil-over, about $160 cheaper.:tup:

axmea? 01-12-2013 02:44 AM

Today I.....

....met up with Sin @ AeroJacket & closed a great deal on a body kit for the Z.

SS lip, skirts, spats, CF vented fenders, and CF GT wing. Up next coilover or a set of wheels.

Sin by the way is a great guy to deal with.

Thank you. Still have some sign maker skill left over from high school apparently. Plus, I never had such flexible material in hs. A little heat and that stuff became very malleable. I feel confident after this amount of detail to wrap my mag-black car in a dark matte silver lower half. ;)

Drove to the store today. New Z, new Z t-shirt, what could be better?
After getting all my groceries walking out I almost crashed carts with a VERY attractive lady.
We both glanced and went different directions. While I was checking out the lady walked by and said "I had 2 of these. You can have this one". I looked and it was a coupon for $10 off groceries. I said "thank you" and she walked out before the check out dude finished.
I was a little bummed I didn't get to talk to her more than that. My next thought was "DAMN I need to wear this Z t-shirt more often"!

Pintsize725 01-12-2013 11:15 AM

Hmmm. Maybe my incoming Z shirt will have that effect. :icon17:

Bought a 24"x48" sheet on amazon for $35 I believe. Don't settle if you're going to go cheap. Buy the good cheap alternative, haha. (3M 1080 carbon fiber)

I was approachinga non linear 4 way intersection this morning with the right of way, when the car with the stop sign started rolling then moving into my lane as if to enter or cross, I am not certain as I started to go left, then more left into the other lane then all the way up to the shoulder of the opposite lane in order to not be side swiped. Clearly nobody was coming the opposite direction so this was the safest route.

Changed the fuel pump, primed the Scavenge pump, filled the oil, tied up some oil lines, installed the breathers.

Yo, that looks sick! How much did it cost you to do this... (inside & out)

Looks great, and I do have to thank you. I too have been tossing around Cf on my black roadster but I haven't seen any good picture of CF on black. I though it would just blend in and you wouldn't notice it much but yours looks great...

Yeah, I spent hours searching for pics of a Mag.Black Z with it and finally just went and got some. If I didn't like it, I could have pulled it off. I think it came out well until next year's mod-budget for some holographic red authentic carbon pieces. Still waiting to see any holographic red carbon fiber on any car.

Make certain you also have a heat gun, or a hair dryer. I may hake a DIY video for installing/wrapping vinyl, but there's a lot available for other cars. The fangs, b-pillars, and rear around the fog are the next and last part I will probably do.

Easiest method for mirrors, cut out 2 - 14"x10" sections.
Peel back only half the wax/paper backing and line line up to the center of the mirror and tack the center.
Use the heat and start pulling to the outside and laying as you go. (don't worry, the 3M 1080 is VERY malleable once warmed up)
Do 1-2" to the side, then 1-2" top and bottom, then back to the side. Don't allow the vinyl to cool too much. Pull the rest of the backing off and repeat for the opposite side.
Use 3M primer if you plan to keep them on long term (I'd think over 1-2 years).

The reason I suggest keeping the vinyl backing on - helps from that section of vinyl becoming warm. Once this stuff gets too warm, it starts to become hard once cooled. It might help to have a friend use the hairdryer/heatgun.

Good luck!
