My Z has been snowed into the back yard where it sits... I can't wait for early spring so I can install all my upgrades...

I'm glad you asked!!! (it played out that way in my head anyways) 2 piece Drilled/Slotted Rotors, Carbo Tech Pads, Whiteline Sways (front and back), LED fog lamp, Trans Cooler, ZEX 100 shot, and NST Pulley.

I need to order an F.I. Oil Cooler kit and F.I. Test Pipes... and Gauges ... and a tune....

and twin turbos down the road

Then a new engine

ordered another CSF radiator. looks like the one i have is leaking somewhere at the bottom. luckily Ravi at CSF is taking care of me.

question for anyone though...how bad is it if i reuse the old fluid? its literally 5k miles old since i drained and recycled (legally) the stock fluid when i installed the CSF last time.

If the fluid is going into a very clean conainer you should be ok. If you are worried about contamination you might want to get some new coolant.

yah, just use your recently emptied distilled water gallon jug. not your milk jug. :ugh:

My front left splash guard has slowly been coming off. The bottom part was basics dangling. Only held in by the top screw and I don't think it's salvageable

check out the DIY on splash guards. i think you can just get new clip nuts, screws, and perhaps fix it? :confused:

i used some extra bolts from the car i had and some washers (since they had big holes in them) to hold on my splash guards.

It's the black part of it that's messed up not the actual colored part you know?

yah, thought that part was held in by clip-on nuts + the black pan tapping screws? no? mine was overtorqued by the dumbarse mofo dealer as well since ownership.

Oooh! For the last few months, my '09 knobs have been erratic, the encoders weren't being reliably read by my radio (bose navi) and it was very irritating. So today at lunch I gently pulled the knobs off all 4 controls (they were all intermittently being read when rotated), and sprayed Cramolin Red, rotated them a few times (I sprayed them at the border of the potentiomer/encoder assy aluminum plate/plastic body, I bent my red spray tube down slightly). They now work flawlessly.
I recommend this for anyone who has an out of warranty car. Don't use just any old tuner cleaner, use something that cleans, lubricates, and leaves a protective coating. Many "cleaner" products for electronics washes off the factory lubricant and really screws them up.

ummm... are you showing the air deflector forward of the front wheel well? i think bananaz's talking about the splash guards... (you know, aft of the front wheel well)...(?)

mang, i am full of confusion today. :icon17:

for intermittent electric contacts, i use WD40. it's a trick i found back in the early 80's when my 1/4" instrument cables would make static/scratchy noise when i rotated them in the jacks. wiped the jack clean with WD40 on a paper towel, walla. no more scratchy noise. same goes for volume pots, dials, etc. :D

Today I drove to places for work using my personal car because I felt like I had to drive my Z.

This raised a question... I keep getting shocked when touching the door lock on the outside..

I mainly drive 3 cars,

Merc Sprinter Van (work) --- never shock
07 silver Honda Civic (gf car)-- door shocks me when I get out
11 silver 370z -- been randomly shocking me when I get out

This mainly happens when its cold.. and I mean cold for Florida (40-50s F)

I swear I do not rub my body against the seats! Today I tried to close the door using my ***, and it got a nice shock !

malm- step out while holding something metal on the car. it's like that on all 4 of my cars in the winter time. by winter i mean 0F or below. :)

good thing(?) for me is that it's so cold im wearing gloves... so no shock.

Blacked out the rear valence with plastidip...should hold me over until I get the fujimura cf diffuser.

Well, I got the following parts this week: Stilled sways, SPC front camber arms, evo-r c.f. door handles.

Installed my aerojacket hood!

And just today got some FI ceramic coated LTHs!

Yeah the dial controls (rotary knobs) on the dash. I would be OK with WD40 in a pinch but prefer purpose built chemicals for long term reliability. We used to put Cramolin on our mixer board sliders, worked great. WD-40 is a cleaner that acts like a lubricant, it would be OK on mechanical connectors but not in an electromechanical device like a slide pot or rotary encoder/volume control. I have no experience using WD40 in the way you describe, might be OK for 1/4" plugs, XLR, Neutrik, etc.
