Got some new much needed tires today BFG Gforce. They feel great and much quieter on the freeway than the advan sports.

Verda7junior 10-18-2013 09:10 PM

In preparation for whenever I get to go drag racing again and try and beat my 13.3@107, last night I did a little weight reduction. I removed the spare tire and wheel, jack, lugnut wrench & tools, child seat anchor bracket, front tow hook, rear tow hook, and rear floor mat. It all added up to 46.8 lbs. And today I made my Z jealous by temporarily falling in love with a 2014 Corvette, it was a red automatic (same as my Z) and it had red interior and brake calipers and black wheels and a removable roof panel. I work at a GM dealer and I did a pre delivery inspection on it first thing this morning. That included a 9 mile test drive with some highway time. What made my heart beat faster was when I decided to do a full throttle acceleration from 45 up to 75, it surprised me with its brutal acceleration that it flew from 45 up to 90 in what seemed like 1 second and I stomped on the brakes when I looked down and saw 90 after letting off. So after that I was in love with it as it was in the shop for me to admire until it was delivered to it's owner at 3pm. My car stickered at $37,465 (although I bought it for $29,988 after it sat on the dealers lot for 14 months) and the Corvette stickers at $62,500. So after work I went home and admired and drove my Z again. I think she will forgive me for todays fling and realize that I will always come home to and love my Z. To me the Vette is digital and the Z is analog. The Vette has a ton of info available on it's displays, heads up display with a few choices. Speedo, tach, etc. display that has alot of choices including tire temperature that said warm after my test drive. Radio & HVAC touch screen display that lowers to access a cubby hole and USB port. A few things on the rear view mirror such as compass. The Vette has an electronically controlled rear differential and electrically actuated valves in the exhaust tips. And the Z has analog everything other than the digital clock and the trip computer screen that I usually just leave on the outside temp display. The Vette has small paddles mounted on the steering wheel, and the Z has large ones on the column. The Vette seemed a little tighter inside and the seat bolsters hugged me tighter. Both cars have 245mm tires on front, Vette has 285 rear and Z 275 rear. So overall I really love my Z. Walking out of a store tonight I realized that another benefit of parking out away from other cars is that it gives me more time to admire my Z as I am walking towards her.

I have same setup..check mt sig for video. You need a good set of speakers or headphones to appreciate it lol.

Found a killer deal on an intake and exhaust. Tomorrow, I drive, uninstall, and drive back. Its going to be a long day.

Just tell her "That's the sound of freedom" and leave it at that.

went to an 1/8 mile track and ran 11 times. best time was 8.968 with a 2.3 60 ft time. Need some better tires lol. First time out and it was a blast. Ran against another modded 370z a bunch of times too.

dAvenue 10-19-2013 03:14 PM

Picked up my car today with the new headers installed and took her for a long drive afterwards. The exhaust note is beautiful and the engine is now smooth when going through mid-to-high rpms. I'm telling you the car sounds exactly as it should. It screams like a racecar.

LostSol 10-19-2013 03:27 PM

Replaced the rear diff bushings. What a PITA

Rusty 10-19-2013 04:03 PM

Started doing my suspension up-grades. :D Working 14 hr days doesn't leave much time to do things. :icon14:

TheGreatOne 10-19-2013 05:21 PM

Picked up my KellyFields hood struts (shipped to a border address) :D

Once again my Z saves me from paying taxes....

crossing the US border, borderguard just keeps asking about the Z and what I've done to it. Doesn't ask about the packages I have on my front seat (my springs to ship to e36er)

On the way back crossing into Canada same thing, told me to go on my way...no taxes to pay :) woot!

I did a few runs today at the strip. Best 1/8 time was 8.476 with a 1.9 60 ft. Best 1/4 was 13.066 and best speed was 109.32 The stock tires worked great.

i'm all about gettin' it on, butt, bought me an' installed one half of 'drivingcomforts.com' two-toned thick, sheepskin seat cover...i was impressed and happy, unlike my sheep cover for my cr-z...these are luxurious and fit well even thou i'm befuddled as to how anyone can fit their hands under the front or sides of our seats...doesn't matter here...they're snug...matches our interiors...expensive...looking at $600+...

waiting on LED lights...big item---3 weeks ago---full FAST INTENTIONS HFC/CBE CF...LOVE IT!!!

lower center of gravity always helps, plus the Swift springs seems to make the ride better, smoother. I would say it was more about appearance then anything for me as i wanted a more flush look between fender and wheels, get rid of that 4x4 look.

its a cheap mod $225 if you can put them on yourself. I think it does wonders to the stance of the Z

tracked my Z for the first time ever yesterday. ran buttonwillow in #13 CW configuration and it was a blast. the z does really, really well there.

things i learned:
- must use rb600 - brakes and clutch never boiled!
- tire pressure is everything - started at 32psi in the cold 60 degree morning, and had to drop pressure after each session to 30-31psi once it got hotter in the day
- 250 degree oil temps come up quick when its 90 degrees outside, even with a 25R oil cooler :(
- with good pads, the damn car stops so fast. too fast! its scary

today - swapped back to stock pads, and gave her a good wash. man...1 track day = an entire weekends preparation/cleaning afterwards. oil change coming tomorrow!

Waiz 10-21-2013 01:26 PM

I made a real effort to get out and drive my Z this weekend rather than having it sit around like I have been and driving my Fit

Felt good to get to take her out with the weather still being so nice in SoCal

Masterbeatty 10-21-2013 05:06 PM

Put my center cubby back on after a long retrofit and it's still not done.

Got my first oil change today at 3765 miles! It worked out that 3750 miles was almost exactly six months and I think I'm going to stay on the every six months schedule regardless of miles. This first winter the Z won't see any snow so there will be lower miles but I'll likely be purchasing a winter wheel and tire package before next winter.

Can't tell the headlights are that dingy from the pic, but they are in person.

Dropped the beast of at the dealership to confirm the rear diff bushing being shat. If so, they will be installing whitelines for the rear diff.

Moved Harry from the bay in garage that has a garage door opener to the bay that doesn't. Placed the Civic in the bay with the opener.:( z is now in it's winter storage bay.
If it doesn't snow, Z will be moved back!

I'm curious as to which warranty restrictions go along with that. I assume that this would be covered under the drivetrain warranty?
