Hey all, new here and haven't made my proper intro on the forums but had this done today and wanted to share. I replaced the factory catalytics with GTM resonated test pipes (GTM-HR000-R) using Z1 metal HR/HVR gaskets. The Nissan has a bit of a growl to it now and is much happier in the 45-6600 rpm range. Not planning on doing much else aside from a tune until the warranty runs out but thought these looked pretty tucked up under there. Enjoy!

ps- Sorry if I am posting any of this incorrectly- first post!

My sweet beautiful cat of 16 years passed today, so I took the Z out driving, hard.

It helps a bit.

Meowch! Sorry. When my dogs passed last year I was unbelievably grief stricken.

Hang in there. (This is where I wish I had that cute picture of the kitten hanging from a limb to post)

Spent $75 at car toys to clean up my yellowed 09 lamp covers. The pix don't do it justice, but the headlights look as good as new.

Totally worth the effort!!!

Here are some pix. I dunno if they show how much better. (It's a huge difference)

Nice Surf, what did you use?

CDepp 02-08-2013 06:15 PM

Made the guys who park in the 'midlife-crisis-parking' section a little unsettled putting the Z this close to their Boxsters/Caymans. There's usually 3 others sitting with them, a black, a yellow, and a silver.

Thought the clouds reflecting looked nice, so I ruined the opportunity of a nice pic by using the iPHone::roflpuke2:

Got my wheels and intake tube back from the powder coaters. Still have to put on my R1 Concepts rotors, so I mounted the tires and threw them on just to see how it will look.

I was looking at my EVO-R Z emblems today and realized the backings that were sent with them are for the standard Nissan burger emblem and not the Z logo emblem  I'm glad I sprayed the clear coat on the backings and didn't use the VentureShield pieces that Mr. GurneyEagle (I figured I'd mess it up the first time anyway)

Here's a mock up of the emblem :excited:

Well sorry to say I used a tech at the detailers shop. But it went like this
60 grit
100 grit
Wool buffing pad with compound
Cotton pad with compound
Foam pad with compound
Fine foam pad with compound
Acrillic finish/sealant
Light buff over cured acrylic

Total time 1.5 hours of continuous sand/buff. (I watched on and asked a ton of questions so I can do myself next time)

I hate you, my Z is getting pounded right now :(

Can't wait to see your mods in person, I will take a bunch of pics! Any plans for wheels, if not your OEM's still look good with spacers

LOL, the rains pounded today. Glad I did not take it to work. Really torn between a new set of wheels or coilovers Waizzz.

Did a redline fluid swap today. Oil change, trans and diff fluid flush refilled with redline. That craps pretty nasty and I only had 15k on the car!

Footloose301 02-09-2013 09:16 AM

I went out last night for a drink downtown and ran into that same convertible black cherry that I see all over town. Evo r rear diffuser, 40th wheels, side skirts, springs and spacers. I watched him park as I was walking into a club to meet some strange. Anyways, long story short I was throwing back a couple beers and met some cool chicks and there was one other dude there that I met and we were all talking to these girls. I see this dude pull out his iPhone and had the front of a 370z as a wallpaper so I asked if he drove one and sure enough it was his that I've seen all over town. What are the odds!? Real cool guy about 50-55 years old, bought me a beer and we talked about the Z's.

Sorry for the long story. Just thought it was awesome finally meeting the dude driving tha sweet looking vert and just the way we ran into each other was cool. 4 good looking 40-50 year olds with silicone chests lol and us! (I'm just 26) ;) they're fitness models....

CDepp 02-09-2013 05:01 PM

Took out the Z and C300 both for some tender loving hand wash and detailing with the fiancé.

CDepp 02-09-2013 05:38 PM

See! I told you so!

Braved the wind and cold air to clean my black beauty. Then went on a back road excursion. If gas was cheaper, I'd still be driving around. :driving:

JARblue 02-09-2013 06:54 PM

Since it rained today, I couldn't wash the car. I detailed the interior, and on a whim, I painted the shift boot trim to color match my car (KAD). It's a very subtle change, but I like it and plan to do the same to more interior pieces
