i think the face lift is geared toward fitting in with the general look of sports/luxury cars (audi, lexus, porsche, mb, and other random cars) especially the LED strip addition.

i think the face lift is geared toward fitting in with the general look of sports/luxury cars (audi, lexus, porsche, mb, and other random cars) especially the LED strip addition. losing the fangs could be an attempt to lose the aggressive look to attract more buyers with the addition of LED strip.
now the 370z would def be mistaken for a porsche from a distance
