also, why PIG? he probably used that as an excuse to check for other violations - which is a legitimate practice to help keep truly illegal activity to a minimum. No way would i want that job - those poor guys and the a$$holes they have to deal with.

I think modify can be used in court to define replacement of said exhaust. To change a part or upgrade is to modify. They would have you just on the modify part. Now determining if the vehicle was in compliance with Federal law that they would need to test. But if they did indeed prove that the exhaust out of compliance you could be looking at a stack of fines. Sounds like the pig let you walk this time to check his law he may hit ya on the flip side.

"those poor guys" can be awful big ******** themselves. I "yes sir" and "no sir" them and they are usually still complete dicks. I know they deal with a lot, but it not like they signed up to be a cop and were then blindsided by what the job entailed. They should be professional, they CHOSE the job.

Not all cops are bad. It's easy to stereotype, I could find out what profession you do and probably come up with a bunch of stereotypes as well and I'm sure you would get mad. Just because there are a few bad apples in NYPD doesn't make the entire US police force criminals.

Not all cops are bad is as true as not all cops are good. If they used more judgement regarding minor infractions, "the folks" would support them more; i.e. one conforms to the spirit of the law vs the letter of the law.
