this was the first time ive ever really driven it like it was meant to and it did not disappoint. with the 25 row oil cooler my temps stayed in the 200 degree mark the entire 65 miles. ambient temperature in the valley was 100+ degrees! however, once i stopped...temp's soared to 220-230 degrees quickly (pitstopped at lick observatory). brakes held up quite nicely as well (newly added SS lines and RBF600), but im thinking of changing the power steering fluid now. anyone flush theirs?

i think i might get me a greddy exhaust for my G instead. :icon17:

Mr.kenchan, to hear you are happy with the new Fit, and I am glad you found Honda made improvement on the new model, you know, under the current global economy condition, we usually hear about cutting cost on R&D and cost on material & quality, on Honda!!

Also :excited: to see your mods on the FitSport Junior. :iagree: on leaving the suspension & exhaust in stock form, I too believe there's no need to touch the suspension since it's a DD, and for the exhaust... I will feel :ugh2: on trying to max out the exhaust note...

Maybe new rims? ;)

Good job man! What kinda bits did you order for the new ride? Do you find it somewhat humorous that the Fit was your last DD before you sold it and started driving the G every day? :)

Pintsize725 08-12-2012 01:31 AM

Was going to splurge on window tint today. Sadly, every place I called was booked. Maybe next weekend.

What are your state limits, look into that before you're doing it.

Most states will typically allow a darker tint on the rear window than the side windows.

A trick to getting darker on the sides is getting either a 60% or 50% tint on the windshield, makes the 'stock' look darker, so your tint isn't as bad.

It's how I get away with 25% on the sides, 10% on the back. Because I have 50% on the front.

I don't want it dark for visibility reasons. I already have trouble driving. Being short sucks.

It's actually not dark at all, even in nighttime. I still see just fine.

happytheman 08-12-2012 02:15 AM

Night pint! :hello:

Footloose301 08-12-2012 06:12 AM

I have 15% all the way around the car and 45% for the entire windshield. Never been pulled over and I drive a lot. I have 38k on my Z in less than 2 years so it has plenty of exposure to cops and such.

During the day it's like you have sunglasses on at all times, at night you cannot even notice that it's tinted since its so light. Perfect visibility.

Good morning everyone. :tiphat:

Today's agenda has washing the 370 and the Juke real quick first thing. We expect another toasty day -- 106 F. I have to be honest here; I am not a fan of this friggin' heat one bit.

Following the car washing activities will be Opie washing followed by TV shopping with Taylor (Mr. Techfracture). Shopping for big ticket items with either of my sons usually means they shop and I buy (or at least help).

So there you go.

Have a great day and don't forget to use up your daily allotment of reps.

Sounds like a good day! Have fun shopping for electronics!

47", eh? We put a backlit 47" LED in our bedroom and my wife wishes we had gone with the 52"! I love her!! :)

In my experience, I find that it's best to purchase the biggest you can reasonably afford. In no time you may find yourself wanting more!

Morning! :hello:

Checked the oil @750 miles and was about 1/3 quart low, not bad. Topped it off and put another 100 miles on it. I should really wash it today, hopefully that happens... Chance of rain this evening, and I'd like to take it for a drive again, so maybe I should skip it.

So kenchan you have TWO Fit Sports in your driveway now? That's one for each foot, man! ;) :D

Hello Mr. Alcheng... Well no news yet. Still listening to clips and such.

I was thinking NISMO because I would have the Nissan dealer install it, but then, I do have a good shop that I think will do it for not too much, so I guess I could do any exhaust!

Since I had not considered other possibilities I would have to say I am just at the very beginning of my search. I bookmarked that site you gave me, though and I've been looking at all of those.

Hello Mr. Davey,
I have a Nismo exhaust and in my opinion it sounds a little tame. Fast Intentions seems to be the ticket these days. My buddy has an exhaust by M7 Japan that sounds fantastic! Lastly, one of the guys on here has a full Amuse exhaust for sale (brand new never used) that's just beautiful...I don't know what those sound like. Good luck on your project!

mr.davey- :hello: i had to add oil on a regular basis until about 8k miles. from there it's slowed down considerably. this was the same way with my G when i got her 8yrs ago.

yah, i had 2 Fits back 2008-2011. i sold my 08' as i couldn't stand the pedal position and it's been in a fender bender. carmax gave me a great price so just let it go. :p i did one full year with the G as full time dd. worked out okay, im still not a fan of putting kids in the back seat in bad weather...and not being able to carry anything, ive been looking for a hatch the last 4-5months.

the current Fit's pedal position is 10x better; not as good as G and Z but for a family car it should do just fine. now i can finally carry my wheels and music gear around too, whenever.
