The best tourist thing, from what I hear, is hanging out at my house -- talking about Z's, washing Z's. modding Z's and taking pictures of Z's. |

Today I spent about 3 hours working what's left of my yard after the drought, which is mainly just the weeds. So I was pulling weeds and cutting back some stuff and actually had to use a shovel to get some of the weeds out. :ugh2: Then I washed the Z with my new CR Spotless deionizer. I used regular water to wash and did the top first, rinsed with DI water, then one side, rinsed that, then the other side, rinsed that, then the hood, rinsed that, and then I did my wheels while I waited for it to dry. It was taking too long (but not leaving spots!) so I blotted it dry with a big microfiber towel - no wiping, just blotting. Then I took it out on the highway for a little blow-drying and came back home to detail it... I figured some of the wash water would come out of the gaps and stuff and I'd have water spots but I didn't have hardly any! I detailed a few little spots and it looks super-clean again, and it was lots easier than using hard water and drying and then detailing all of the water spots that leaves. Now my only potential issue with this thing is how many washes I get out of a $45 bag of the granules. Our water is pretty hard here so it might be as little as 5 washes, but still, it saved me at least an hour and a half. |

I like using the blot technique along with my Metro VAC sidekick. Works like a charm, but not as fun as going for a quick drive on the highway. |

http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...81212-fits.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...-fits-side.jpg im really liking this car for what it is. it's super smooth riding compared to my 2009 FitSport which my wife uses, and the 5MT with iVtec actually works pretty well going into expressway entrance ramps. it's A LOT torquier (sp?) than the 08 5MT i had. with the way the thing rides, i think im just going to leave it stock. it's got wheel gap but im going to be taking the family all over so parking ramps, etc i wont have to worry about. |

at home even when i need to grab a towel or water or something from inside the house, i close my garage door...even though i have 2 video cameras running in there recording. i dont feel like coming back to the garage only to find out the faces of the guys that took my cordless tools and wrenches. Quote:

yah, i tried many different cars but when it came to utility (biggest factor), reliability, regular gas, overall cost, past experience, made in japan... i gave the Fit another try. the 08' i sold was MT and it wasn't terrible but i hated the pedal position. it was too close made for real short legged people. my new one they really fixed this area and it feels like a normal car. so i was immediately sold when i took a test drive on Friday. :p Quote:

The FitSport looks nice and sharp, the wheel does look a bit small, but I think it is enough for its size, well, won't cost much to bump-up to the next size but I bet you can leave it til next season... :icon17: Quote:
Regarding Mr.kenchan decision, I can confidently say I know the story almost as good as ken-San... LOL :bowrofl: :bowrofl: Mr.kenchan... I believe you :iagree: with my statement, right? :bowrofl: And the story between Mr.kenchan and the new FitSport, I'll say the process is the Auto-Version of Romeo & Juliet :bowrofl: :bowrofl: ken-San, :iagree: ????? :icon17: :icon17: Quote:
:iagree: on spending $$ on the Z :icon17: Quote:

yah, the wheels are 16's and the car can easily fit 17's. i will drive on these until late fall and decide if i want to use the stockers for snows or get snow set with cheap wheels. :) |

:tiphat: Mr.kenchan Do you think the new all-season can survive the first Winter?? If so, I will say use the all-season for the first Winter and get a set of 17-summer next year... then a set of 16-Winter on the OEM rims... I will invest $$ on a set of 17-summer on the FitSport next Summer  |

BTW, do you find the Corona they serve in the hotel taste like water?? Most of the time I ask them put more alcohol in the cocktail, or ask them to just give me shots... but quad it in a glass...  |

Hey guys:hello:
Quick recap of my weekend. Went outside Sat and replaced the gasket I thought was blown. Sure sounded like the one after the test pipe, guess I should have investigated more. Fixed it, turned the car on and...................yuck, still broken! Turned out it WAS the same gasket that keeps blowning on me. So I head over to my friends house out in PA to fix it seeing as how the job is much easier w 2 people. We rip it out, fashion a new gasket out of "make your own gasket material" and start to slap it back together. As Im threading in the one bolt that THREADS into the manifold I feel that its not going in too smooth. I stopped and my buddy and I lay under the car debating on what to do. We try threading a dif bolt or 2 into the hole w the same results. Finally I decide to put the ratchet on it and tighten it a bit to see if the problem works itself out. The bolt was threading in but it was pretty tight. After threading it in about a 1/2 inch the bolt got very tight and I stopped ratcheting as soon as I felt it tighten up. Im like, ok just thread it back out. Well, it wouldnt thread back out. I cranked on it and had it backing out VERY slowly and then...............SNAP! Ugh, been fearing snapping a bolt off doing this forever. I seriously thought i was screwed and not getting it back together yesterday. Put vise grips on it and couldnt budge it. Oh the anger and frustration that was running thru my body!!! Luckily my friends neighbor is a mechanical beast and he came out and got that broken bolt off with some voodoo magic, or something. He threaded a nut on the end of the snapped bolt, then another on top of that, then was able to unthread it. Worked like a charm and saved my head from exploding!!! She is all back together now  We will see how long this gasket lasts. I have blown 3 since May now. WTF! Off to work :( Have a soccer game tonight then Im off tomorrow, def making Monday easier to cope with:icon17: |
