Yes, this was after a bit of agitation during a detail last fall.

Good evening everyone!! :hello: :hello:

I drove my Z from work to dinner tonight

Z related enough.. eh?? :icon17:

So I bet the "useless..." thread will get 100+ pages per day from now on... LOL

Thinking about washing the Z tomorrow, and just to find out there's a power outrage tomorrow from 8:30am, for 4-6 hours... :icon14: :icon14:

I believe it's the heavy loads of posts about modding a Honda Fit and the 50 Shades of Ghey that cause the trouble...??

Anyway, it is what it is... I will see you guys in both threads....

Hopefully, I don't need to post "I drive the Z to work" in this thread...

And post "and I have 2 cups of coffee already..." in the other thread...

:bowrofl: :bowrofl:

Um, on topic... I thought about buying one of those California Car Duster things, but I didn't.

I thought about driving it to work tomorrow, but I won't.

Y'all have a great evening!

The California Duster, I bought one when I had the 350z, it leaves lots of red stuffs from the brush on the panels... maybe I didn't know how to use it?? :ugh2:

But if your are washing your car once a week, do you really need to dust it??

I might just use this:

Warm beauty summer day! Drove the Z. Its outside getting a nice tan and the sunshield is in place. I cannot wait to get out of the office and get on the road!!! Car is clean and happy! :)

Service next Monday - oil change, new drivers side aspheric mirror(factory piece not found on the US model) should give much better viz (does on my GTI) and sending the sample of Mobil 1 to Blackstone for some data :)
Oil going in this time is the Nissan Ester.

I have an oil change kit that was delayed, hence the Mobil 1 last time. I will use this up and then move back to the full synthetic. Might just UOA on the Ester next time as well.

Enjoy your day in the Z if you are driving one! Cheers,

Dave :driving:

I do use a swiffer to do the initial interior cleaning if the panels are really dusty. Not so much in my Z, more for daily drivers.

I am waiting on spring install as well but am going to tackle it myself to keep me out of debt. Could save you some money but I am sure you have considered it already. Just need a jack, tools and spring compressor and maybe a friend from your local Z meet to help. I am waiting to hopefully get it on my friends lift soon to make it even easier and I am in no rush.

I've got an uncle who quoted me $150 without the rear camber kit install. I could do it Saturday but I just dropped money on an expected vet bill. :( Also getting overlays in soon so I'll need to pay someone to install those since there's no way in heck I'm touching the tail lights on this car. Springs will just have to sit in my hatch for another month or two. Oh and none of the Z guys have offered to help.

Sweet. I am thinking about getting Osiris and using Cipher to do the eTune updates. Or may decide to just make the trip to Z1 since they know what they are doing.

Seriously, the rear camber install takes less than an hour.

WTH is wrong with the local Z guys...someone needs to help with install stat! Sounds like we are in the same boat. I have had my springs and rear camber kit for over a month now but was waiting on getting my exhaust installed before the springs. Since I got my exhaust on a couple weeks ago my springs are on deck. I have had my overlays even longer...when I got my tint put on I had them quote me to just put the overlays on the tails. They quoted me $90 per tail for just labor...WTF?!?! So I am going to give it a shot myself when I feel like having that much patience.

It's $200 with that installed. But that's also another piece I have to buy on top of install costs. And then spacers.....and then tint....and then overlays...and then painted rims...and then.......and then....... You know?

Austin guys do not like to do anything. No runs, no dinners, no movies. I have to post 20 times to get 3 people to come out lol. I'm trading them in for Houston I think. They at least get together frequently.

Will do. Still gotta decide on one final bolt on before I make that trek. Then it will be the inevitable countdown of when I go FI. Gotta save up for that adventure though.

Well around here we do monthly dinner/hang out. Nothing major. A few are more active than others and go on runs with one set for this Sept up to the Jack Daniels Distillery. I may have to spearhead this run though as I dont care to cruise the highway the whole way and with being active in the bike scene the Baby Dragon leads up near there (although there are a few routes in TN they call the Baby Dragon and none are as technical) so should be a good time.

Not really, but I don't wash it every week and I don't drive it when it's raining usually so it mainly just gets dusty and then if it gets bird poop on it, it gets a clean spot from the quick detailer. :(

I'd like to be able to dust it weekly and QD it here and there, and just wash it as-needed if I get caught in the rain sometime.

Today I kept my Z safely in the garage and drove my DD, and glad I did because some idiot was driving a dump truck full of asphalt stuff with the gate unlatched and spilling it all over the road! Luckily it seems I only got one chip on the Civic, but if that had been the Z I would have been mad!

If that's the case, I suggest you go with waterless car wash...

not keen on the duster cos I always feel it's like dry-clean aka scratching panels....
