Heading out to fix yet another exhaust gasket:shakes head:

This is getting old.

I havent installed a mod in months though so at least it gives me an excuse to spin some wrenches on the car:tup:

Enjoy your Saturday everyone:tiphat:

Oh, yesterday I had my rear tires removed and switched to the opposite rim to get a little more life outta the tires. I put 4 new tires on in May and the rears are already down to the wear lines on the inside in the rear. Outsides looked pretty good yet so I swapped em:tup:

Mr. Alchemy. Have a good day despite the gasket. At least you'll get good at the fix.

Im a pro at ripping my test pipes out. Luckily this is the gasket on the back side of the test pipe so all I have to do is remove the Y pipe. Worst part about the job is jacking this up, lol.

Alchemy 08-11-2012 08:30 AM

Wait, Mr. Onzedge, isnt it like 6:30 in Cali???? WHAT ARE YOU DOING UP:confused:

That is my issue. I have a DUI, but it is 13 years old now. I have heard that you can apply to get it okayed by the Canadian government somehow. I did not have a reason to go to Canada until recently when I discovered poutine, so now I have to get to work on that travel thing.

I am up by 5 everyday. I love the mornings when it is cool, quiet and no one else is up yet. I am turning into my Dad.

Pretty sure the penalty is removed after 10 yrs. You should be able to visit our friends to the north without a problem:tup:

Gotta go vacuum my wife's car, and wash the Z. My wife says that she doesn't want a detailing , but I'll do whatever I can today before she needs the car. I'll finish tomorrow. Later.

took the nizy out for a drive today. drove 65 miles worth of chicanes, hairpins, apex's and what not from livermore to san jose (mines road) and the car held up like a CHAMP!

this was the first time ive ever really driven it like it was meant to and it did not disappoint. with the 25 row oil cooler my temps stayed in the 200 degree mark the entire 65 miles. ambient temperature in the valley was 100+ degrees! however, once i stopped...temp's soared to 220-230 degrees quickly (pitstopped at lick observatory). brakes held up quite nicely as well (newly added SS lines and RBF600), but im thinking of changing the power steering fluid now. anyone flush theirs?

good to see you driving her like she is meant to be! I am jealous as I have no where here to really drive my NISMO like that..
as for your oil temps that's odd that once you stopped your temps went up.. I am boosted and I generate alot of heat, and I don't see 220 unless I am really on it for a long time...
don't forget that you need ATF fluid for your PS fluid

heh i was in 2nd and 3rd most of that 65 miles. im thinking it spiked up because of the heatsoak not moving. i am honestly impressed now with this car. i left the STi's in the dust :P

as for the power steering fluid. thanks, i need to do some more research on that. but it felt like the steering was getting more and more loose as i drove, the tires were fine and actually not too hot to the touch!

when I drove from Tampa back to ND, there were a few occasions I hit 220.. but i was really on her.. and I have a huge single turbo. but I'd let her idle for a few minutes to cool down, and I never went up in temp... but then again I have a 34 row :P

I actually JUST changed my PS fluid... I was leaking some from the cooler because it was getting rather toasty.. so i replaced it with some better ATF fluid

thanks, mr.alcheng! lol yah, i did drive pretty carefully... :ugh2: not really, just drove like usual. :icon17: honda really improved quite a bit on the 2012's from the 2009 FitSport. i think im going to just leave the suspension and exhaust stock for now cause it drives so much smoother and quieter. i bought some factory interior bits like CF pieces, leather shift knob, door sills, etc. just decorative pieces. should have them installed by mid-next week. :)

i think i might get me a greddy exhaust for my G instead. :icon17:
