Im not going to quote too many posts, so I will just address whats necessary. Im not that big of an azzhole, but, I dont care what the mech's salary is. They get paid to do a job. Period. If I (the customer) am paying for a service, and I dont care if it is as simple as ordering another glass of tea at cracker barrel, than I expect quality service. I work for my money, and dont expect 50 cents worth of product if I am paying $1.00. There are a couple different threads here discussing oil temp issues. Throughout those threads there are plenty of people bit(*ing about how Nissan will void your warranty if you install an oil cooler......or how come they didnt install one from the get go. But, if you have a Nismo oil cooler installed by Nissan, your warranty is still in tact. Really??? I cant even get a quality oil and filter change, but I would trust them with aftermarket parts installation? Ha And if something goes wrong, Im supposed to be OK with it because the Nissan mechanic doesnt make 6 figures a year. My azz. On the positive side, the dealer will be here in the morning to pick up the car to take back to the dealer. Already discussed with them the need for complete cleaning of the under carriage once the problem is fixed. For those of you wondering, I waited about 2 hrs and then checked the oil level. Half way between the dots. Thats good news let me tell it. That means that the filter isnt seated all the way. Beats the hell out of a stripped out plug. None the less, it tells me that I didnt run it low enough to cause internal damage.

Got a call about 30 minutes ago from the dealer. They are sending a wrecker out to pick up the car. Manger said they would call me when the car arrives. No dice on that one. I told him I would drive my other vehicle over and check it out on the lift myself. Trust is out the window right now.

Once you get the car lifted, just take off the plastic debris deflector. Oil filter isnt hard to get to at all, and the drain plug obviously is right in your face. In fact, you wont even think about anything else while your under the car except for how puny the stock exhaust is. Thats all that goes through my mind when I have my car in the air.

It's not hard to change one's own oil. However, some of us live in apartments which specifically prohibit you from working on your car in your parking space.
As well, collecting the used oil and taking it to a certified recycling facility is a pain in the arse. You don't just throw your used oil away in the trash do you? ![]()

Yes it was found. The OEM filter will not hold a seal. They tried filter after filter and the all leaked. The M1-110 Mobile 1 filter held a seal.
