Default More legroom with aftermarket seat?

I've gone to 3 different Nissan dealerships to test-drive the 370z. I LOVE the car. No matter which adjustment to the seat I make my right leg is pinned under the wheel which makes it hard to apply the brakes. I've tried just using my foot to angle above the break from above the gas pedal and it just doesn't work for me.

If I recline the seat back my head hits the ceiling. Lowering the seat and pushing the seat back does not work. If I could telescope wheel closer to me I'd be fine but that's not an option.

Has anyone used an aftermarket seat that may have sat lower giving you more distance from top of right leg to bottom of steering wheel?

I'm 6"5 and have no such issues?? Did you try lifting the wheel up, there is a lever underneath the wheel.

Regarding aftermarket seats, yes you can probably gain an inch or two of legroom and an inch or two of headroom because a lot of them have less padding/foam and tend to sit low.

I am 6'2" 235. I've tried every position combination on the seat and wheel tilt.

strange that you are having issues. how do you sit: with your legs together trying to put them under the middle point of the wheel? I sit with my legs spread open a little going around on each side of the wheel. I can put them together to go under the wheel but it's not as comfortable for me.

Curious. I am 6-4 and about 225. I have no problem.

I keep my right knee as far to the right as possible. There are no issues with my left leg. Plenty of room and I can get a full stretch in. I can get a full stretch with my right if I aim my right foot above the gas pedal and push out.

Keeping my right knee and leg to the outside of the wheel is good but brake application is difficult.

The seat has adjustment dials on the left side for seat height front and rear, which gives control over both seat height and tilt. Try playing with those, not just recline and fore-aft. I have mine set at rear height bottom, front height middle. This gives a nice backwards tilt to the seat bottom cushion, which helps under hard braking.

6'4" and I think I know what you are talking about, spend a good 20 minutes playing with the seat position and all the dials to adjust. I finally found my perfect driving position and any time someone moves it I worry I will not be able to reset it.
On your original questions, yes there are seats. Bride has a line call 'low max' which offer a lower seating position than most stock seats. For the 370z many of the 'low max' line will give you 1-2" drop, I know the Bride Stradia Low Max will give about 1.5" more room lower the driver.

When I put a helmet on (Im 6'3"), is the only time I have plenty of issues getting into a comfortible position.

I dropped the seat to it's lowest position on day one, but I am curious abot this Bride Stradia Low Max seat. I am going to look into this. How does it compare to the comfort of my current seat?

After riding in a Z with them and driving one for a bit I would say you will fill it after a couple hours of driving. Short trips around town the main issue is getting in/out of the car because it has higher side bolsters.
For a comparison, I am 6'4" at 200lbs with a 34-35" waist and fit very comfortably in the seat but you cannot have anything in your pockets.

If I remember I will try to grab some pictures next time I am around the car.

What we really need is a telescoping steering wheel. My back is killing me from arms being stretched out.
DarkJak and critical like this.
