Several threads similar to this. Last time I came across one I replied with some of the actual math that one should use to calculate effective octane rating based on adding things.
Math is fun kids, check it out ![]() If you are using a bottle of snake oil, do the math at what it does per volume of fuel you are working with and make an informed decision. Non-math example with real world economics: If I use 15 gal of 87 octane, I save about $4.5 vs buying premium (30c per gallon, some spreads are lower so this is a high number). You are not going to raise your the effective octane 4 points on 15 gallons of fuel for < $4.50. If you find such a product, let us all know. Just watch out for strangers hanging around your house...it may be Big Oil trying to silence you. - b |
