Wish there was a cars and coffee in my town:shakes head: Been a boring Sunday. I have a lot of work read to do that I have been putting off. Took the Z for a drive through some twisties. That has been my highlight so far.

When do you get it painted?

Edit: Oh yeah, good morning Mr. Gale! :hello:

I just finished the test fit today. Pictures to follow. Paint, I'll be taking the Z out as it sits now for estimates next week. As for time frame, not sure. I need to source out metal mesh and if it's coming from the US, that will add 2 weeks to the completion date.

I heard or read that the 2009's did not come with the filter.

Question: Does your DSLR have a grid overlay option in the viewfinder to help you adhere to the "rule of thirds" if you so choose?

Thanks for noticing my avatar. I try to mix it up.

I use a Canon 7D and it has an option to display a grid pattern in the viewfinder. I sometimes use it if I am unsure about how level I am. The 1/3 thing comes naturally though. When I first learned to shoot seriously, it was drilled into me. I learned the fundamentals from a guy who worked for the Associated Press and sometimes the National Geographic. He was a great teacher but harsh if you did not follow the rules, at least in the beginning. We shot everything on Kodachrome for color and Tri-X for B&W.

When I shot color slide stuff, our critiques were on the screen, exactly as captured -- no cropping, exposure adjustment -- nothing. Over time, you tend to learn to do everything you can through the lens and get it right the first time.

happytheman 06-03-2012 11:19 PM

I'm just beginning to dabble in better picture taking. So right now I'm using the grid on my iPhone until it begins to gel more naturally. :)
