He frigging grabbed Opie in a flash and proceeded to try to kill him. I got down on my knees and started to pound the crap out of him, with Mrs. Dr, onzedge kicking the crap out of him. The owner was right behind and started whaling on him to, all the while Opie is screaming at the top of his lungs.

We got him off and took him home where my wife administered first aid to Opie and me. Opie then went to the vet for stiches, x-ray and an overnight stay. He has some nice puncture wounds and a few broken teeth with a fractured jaw. I have some nice bites on my left hand and serious road rash on my knees. I think Opie will be all right, but Jeesh, it happened in a flash.

The owner was simply walking his dog from the back of his house to the front door and feels terrible and is paying all of the bills.

No more walking without one of my Glocks, I swear.

Anyway, hug your dogs today.

Mr.onzedge, such terrified incident, I hope Opie will recover quickly and same as you!! :tiphat:

Looks like you might need some Ninja Raccoons from Fire..... :icon17:

We just had to put down my mom's lab this weekend. He was 13, truly great dog. His hips and back knees were in horrible shape, and the vets think he had some lung and stomach cancer going on. One of the hardest things I've ever had to do was driving that dog to the vet. He was one of the best dogs I've ever had.

My wife's niece was attacked by the family Golden retriever when she was 8. Totally unprovoked. Something in the once gentle and friendly dog snapped. Her poor niece has needed several facial reconstructive surgerys since the incident. You can not fully trust any dog no matter how cute or cuddly or even tempered they are.

An excellent point. A dog is an animal. People too soon forget this. A news story a few years ago cited that a labrador had chewed a baby's face off. It wasn't being nasty or malicious. The baby had simply been left in a room alone with the dog, in a swing where it couldn't escape, and there had been food left on the baby's face. The baby survived, but yeah.

Mr.Gale - are you getting the amuse painted this week? :D

I just went to 4 different bodyshops. 2 said they don't want to touch it (they have too much insurance work), 1 said drive around with it on for a month to see if it cracks, then come back for an estimate, and the last one gave me a quote. I didn't think it would be so difficult to get this stuff painted.

I'll be talking to the wife later to see what direction she wants to go.

Let me know if you really have trouble finding a body shop, I can talk to my friend here in GTA, he can paint in install the kit for you no problem, and he does very good job!!

Yeah, still investigating. If I lived in Toronto, it would be no problem. This is what I get for living away from the big city. Great for raising a kid, but it lacks certain conveniences.

 Craziness! So sorry to hear, and hope everyone is ok.

I have a miniature schnauzer who was the runt of the litter, and I try to be very aware of that potential situation. She acts like she could take on the world but talk about some long odds...

My golden retriever (disclaimer: she was part Chow we think) growing up was the nicest dog you ever met. Babies hit her in the face, 2 yr olds pulled her tail and whiskers, and I never saw a happier dog around people. However, she did not get along well our other former alpha female who was 15 at the time (nor many other dogs, really). We had to put down the older dog after one of their more serious fights. They say hitting a dog on the bridge of the nose will release their jaws, but I can honestly say that was complete nonsense. I punctured three of my fingers on her teeth while literally pulling her jaws apart after several failed nose punches. Its an incredibly intense situation and, just like you said, everything happened so fast. Definitely an eye-opener in regards to the nature of animals and the respect you must have.

Speaking of dogs, one time I was visiting my friend's place, and they have a dog in their condo, so we were chatting and the dog was sitting on the floor quietly. At the end, I told my friend, "Your dog is very calm and looks cool...." while I was going up to the dog and touch his head...

All the sudden my friend and his wife started yelling/warning me "OHHH NOOOO... DON'T DO THAT!!!!!"

Meanwhile I had my hand on the dog's head, my friend rush to the dog, pick him up and rush to the toilet....

"What's going on....?" I asked the wife...

"He pees when you touch his head.... every single time....."

I looked at the floor and I saw the drips......

It's probably just a "placebo effect" but I'm rather enjoying the drive after installing the tubes and filters. It feels more responsive and the car sounds great.

Now I'm stuck browsing for more things.

I'm doing fine ... just sitting in my favorite chair by the fireplace.

I purchased a quart of Nissan Ester oil today. The level is getting near low so I need to add a bit because the wife and I are going on a road trip. I'll need the extra oil. :)
