Sold it and got a GT-R.
Just kidding, even though everyone else cough-AK-cough is doing it.

happytheman 06-01-2012 11:02 PM

Ohhhh, I didn't know AK had crossed over to GTR land. Well, better that than a Rustang! :rofl2:

Question for you gurus: What are the signs of a damaged sensor?

I'm guessing the SES light would illuminate, the car would throw a code. Maybe it would depend on the sensor? What sensor are you concerned with?

Buck 06-01-2012 11:40 PM

Hello. Is this working? Can you hear me?

happytheman 06-01-2012 11:45 PM

Umm, yes..the mic is on and you can stop thumping it now.

The MAF sensor. Is that the right name? Lol

Drove it to dinner and it definitely felt more responsive. No lag between pressing the accelerator and getting it to pick up. When I was driving home, I noticed that when I was braking my revs would jump up a bit before coming to a complete stop. To be honest, I've been noticing this for a few weeks. When I was completely stopped, my car idled so low that it sounded like it shut off for a few seconds. I don't know if its just me worrying but the revs seemed all over the place while slowing down and breaking. I haven't fixed the passenger side air box yet.

Maybe one of the Austin guys can drive it and let me know if I'm just worrying too much.

Buck 06-01-2012 11:47 PM

Im new at this so forgive me if I dont follow proper etekut. My car is one like Gale Forces. I just had a supercharge kit installed and a nismo front face. It runs good most of the time but even with the oil cooler the oil temp is hitting 235 degrees in normal Houston traffic in the afternoon comming home from work. I am getting worried. Thats just take it easy driving. With the oil that hot there is no margin to really get on it and let the supercharger spool up. Anyway, nice talking to you all.

happytheman 06-01-2012 11:53 PM

Hey no problem! Welcome to the group! Which supercharger did you go with, and how many rows is your oil cooler?

Buck 06-01-2012 11:57 PM

The dealer installed a GTM kit. The oil cooler is the standard one that they supply.

doda74 06-02-2012 12:01 AM

Yesterday got my car back from the shop after getting a bunch of stuff installed - Berk CBE (special order round extended tips for Nismo), Eibach sways bars, ACT clutch, Fidanza flywheel, and ZSpeed CSC.
The car feels and sounds completely different now, in a very good way! Exhaust note is awesome, takes turns fast with no body roll, and engine revs up super fast. There was some flywheel chatter at idle initially but tonight the chatter mysteriously went away, which is good since that chatter made it sound like there was something wrong with the car.
Starting out from 1st gear feels completely different and will take some practice and getting use to.
Anyway, I am very happy with the results and thanks to Z Car Garage in San Jose for the awesome work!

Buck 06-02-2012 12:02 AM

Thanks for the Welcome. What have you done to your car?

Buck 06-02-2012 12:05 AM

Wow doda 74 that sounds like a real ride. The next time you have clutch problems, install the clutch and flywheel out of a GTR. I got one when I got the SC kit installed and it solved all my clutch problems.

Oil cooler means not much in stop and go traffic. Needs airflow to work...

Sorry doda 74 I just re read your post. You already got an way upgraded clutch and flywheel. I guess if Im going to try to talk to people on this thing I better read more carefully.

Buck 06-02-2012 12:11 AM

Understood MB. Maybe an electric fan in front of the oil cooler like the radiator uses. How does you car do with the 25 row oil cooler?

Don't even worry til you hit 250+.

My temps hit 200 while just cruising with a block-off plate covering the whole cooler. Driving hard with the plate on, probably 230s.

I hope it's not the problem of the fuel pump.

Hmm. Hadn't considered that. I have an extended warranty, maybe I'll take it in tomorrow. Wonder if the dealer will give me sh!t with the tiny mods I've made.

Buck 06-02-2012 12:23 AM

Thanks MB. I'll feel better. Good talking with you and everyone. This was fun. Ill try again sometime. Good luck with your cars everybody.

Don't think they will give you a hard time, it's a good idea to have them take a look especially you have the extended warranty :)

I think the ecu has to get used to the air flow since the new hoses are smoother. My :twocents:

happytheman 06-02-2012 02:03 AM

"Getting used to air flow" should only take a couple of minutes. :)

Shouldn't be the hoses, cos she just installed the hoses today, but the 'jerking' has been for a few weeks.

Morning guys:hello:

Tracie, my revs will stick while decelerating occasionally. I mostly notice it when I come to a complete stop, sometimes it'll hang high at maybe 1500 rpm. Im not sure why it does it either, but then again, I dont give a fvck:icon17:
