Good luck -- it sucks when a 10 dollar part replacement becomes a day-long ordeal.

I hear ya. We had to give up for the day. Its soaking in PB Blaster for the night. The nut is locked on the stud and the stud is threading out, but then gets stuck. Hopefully the PB loosens one of them up.

When I get to that point, I go for the nuclear option and cut the nut with a nut-splitter or my die grinder.

And you can remove the nut without messin up the threads on the stud??? Never heard of a nut-splitter. Sounds painful.

I loved my sales rep though. He worked the deal to where I only put $300 down and gave me an extra $2k on my trade in to push it through. :)

My father has 2 cats. One we call the guard cat cause wherever my father is there is the cat. Glad to hear you worked things out with your wife Bucket. Happy you never answered my questions about the pool. Did you put me on Ignore like Kensan did? Still like the coupe better LOL

Pintsize725 05-26-2012 08:58 PM

Are we sharing pictures of pets now? :excited:

Fire 05-26-2012 09:01 PM

Alchemy here is a link to a nut splitter. General Tools 3ZH05 Nut Splitter
It does as said. As you tighten the screw it splits the nut. Much safer for the stud than a cutoff wheel.
