Yeah. Was pressured into getting an extended one but my sales rep hooked me up with an employee discount on it. I was told by the finance manager "if you can't afford the extended warranty, you can't afford this car". How rude.


Oh well, looks like I'll have to take her in soon. Wonder if I can talk them into swapping my steering lock thingy while I'm there.

Because they're in business to make money. Some dealers sell enough cars that they make a decent profit. Others don't sell as many as they like, so they resort to shady practices to try and pull as much profit off of every sale.

It's cool, it all worked out anyway and I CAN afford the car. :rolleyes:

My Nissan dealership has been very good to me. Have worked with me and went out of their way to make things work out.:tup:

You know, I wish I could but I think he's gone from the dealership. A week after purchase, he contacted me to say my interest rate was actually going to be lowered and I had to come in and re-sign. When I arrived, he was no where to be found and his office looked rather empty. *shrug*

I loved my sales rep though. He worked the deal to where I only put $300 down and gave me an extra $2k on my trade in to push it through. :)

2 1/2 hr drive to Tampa is made bearable as a passenger when you've got this awesome group of Zers to hang wit! (*group hug*)

So my not good car buying experience. It had a steady low pay job ($8.50/ hr) and the Hyundai Tiburon had just come out. I had a stream of used cars, nothing special and my project cars. A 55 Ford that I rebuilt the motor in my side yard, a 65 Impala that needed bodywork that nobody would do and then my 280z that I replaced everything in it. Anyways,LOL, I went to a Hyundai dealer in Buffalo. The salesman had me test drive the car and I liked it. We talked for a few minutes after and he said that he was putting my finance application in and we would know tomorrow. He called in the morning and said come up everything is set. I get there (1 1/2 hour drive) and he says that the financing was rejected. I was like WTH you said to come up and everything was good. He said that he could get me in a Accent, I needed a car so I said ok. I had a volunteer fireman's plate he said the DMV would not let me use on the new car?? As I was driving home I noticed that there was only a temp. reg on the windshield?? I called and he said the perm would be sent by the DMV. NY gen. doesn't give out temps. Well after 8 months I finally got it in the mail. Yes I called frequently about it. A month later the dealership called asking if I had a perm. registration. I said yes I just got it. They said that their sales man was stealing the registration money, giving out plates from other vehicles and had a person at the DMV that would issue temp. registrations. He went to jail for it and the person at the DMV was fired and received probation. :eek:

Meh, for the most part they're shysters and whatever magic they perform with smoke and mirrors makes no difference to their bottom line. I think the only thing that sets one apart from another is whether they make you feel comfortable, or whether they're azzholes. I actually had one salesman ask me if I was interested in a test drive or wanted to just get started "cranking numbers"! :eek: :shakes head:

Needless to say...that dealership did not get my money.

Got up early, washed, some clay, wax, rain-x, new wiper blades (Bosch was all they had in stock), adjusted intake (hood fitment is PERFECT now :tup: thanks Ken-san :tiphat:), mowed the yard, dropped dog off at kennel (the parents' house :icon17:), spread some rep, and now getting packed and ready to head to San Antonio for the weekend.

yard work, then to see avengers and taking the Z, girl friend always says we have to take my Z out... funny in a way, always have to give here a hand to get out

Man you are definitely busy. I got my jobs done early. Changed kitchen faucet and mowed around the pool. I actually had somebody stop and ask if I used my pool cause he was interested in buying my diving board and slide. Guess the weeds where a little high :ugh2:
