Yeah, just checked Tire Rack and OEM 18's run $874+ shipping.

You know what kills me? 20" Tires are cheaper than 19". :shakes head: It's a more common size.

Upgrade time? :p

happytheman 04-14-2012 01:07 AM

Not after dropping $1300 on new shoes! :) Perhaps next year.

Is this your first set of PSS?

happytheman 04-14-2012 01:28 AM

Yes. I've run Michelins before, but it was the PS2 (IIRC) and it was like a 45 series 17" tire. They were way better than all the sets of Yokohamas that I blew through over the years.

Yeah I know it sounds crazy, but I've been using it for over a year and never had a problem. The blade is a really soft rubber, and I keep it really clean. Not to mention every time before I use it I scrub it down with soap and water. I figure it would be easier to spot some dirt or sand on the blade rather than hidden in a drying cloth.

Gmorning guys:hello: Getting ready to spin some wrenches and get dirty:tup:

Also, Mr. onzedge & Mr. dAvenue, what settings are you running on your Konis??

All input is appreciated. Have a great weekend guys:tiphat:

kenchan 04-14-2012 07:15 AM

Morning all. going to drop off my kid at school and ship out the trims. :p

Looks like no Z action today.....rain on the way. :( will take the G instead.

kenchan 04-14-2012 07:17 AM

Alchemy- GL with the install. my tips: Crack loose the top center nut on shaft before removing from car. Mark orientation of top mount before removal and disassembly. :)

Morning, Mr. Alchemy.

So I have the rears exactly in the middle and the fronts 1/4 turn "more tight" than the rears. This was the starting point for me and today I am going to loosen by 1/4 turn front and rear. They are a little stiff with my current settings and I am gong to keep the fronts a bit stiffer tha the reas. I hope this helps.

I can PM my phone number if you want to discuss this -- let me know.

Good luck, man.

onzedge 04-14-2012 07:37 AM

Not too much is happening with the Z today -- minor Koni adjustment and wash. I am taking the Juke in for the post-break-in oil change and inspection.

We are celebrating first son Colin's BD tomorrow and one his buddies is bringing his back-to-the-future mobile and I am getting some photos while it's here. Here is one Colin shot.

Good morning misters! The woman and I are about to head out to go on a cruise with my Z club and taste some nice wines at Bluemont Vineyard. We're taking the S2000 to enjoy the weather.

Up early to watch the F1 qualification. Quik Z drive to the VW dealer to get the new front spoiler for the new GTI(update to German spec).

Just finished full detail. Polished and wax'd the new paint yesterday. Did the rest of the car today as well. Nice clean and shiny!

For swaybars it recommended to start with soft front, soft rear. Your suspension setup, alignment, etc. will have an effect on your swaybars, so it's good to expirement with them. I went with soft front, middle rear. It's not bad, but I'm going to try hard front middle rear and see the difference. I haven't noticed any unwarranted over/under steer with my current setup, but figure it's easy enought to change the settings on the swaybar, so I'll experiment.

Have fun turning wrenches today.

The only thing worse than rain, is having a beautiful day and not being able to drive the Z. Guess what kind of day I have. We can have a pity party, I'll bring the whine, you bring the cheese. :icon17:

I'm Mr.Mom today so no Z driving for me. If you don't see any posts from me in 8 hours, send help. My two year old has probably duct taped me to the floor and has overtaken the house.

Skeeterbop 04-14-2012 08:49 AM

I took the Z to the strip last night. I still suck, but my reaction times were pretty good. They were all within .1 seconds of the light (it was a .5 tree) with my best being a .5473. I still need to work on my 60' though.

Lemers 04-14-2012 10:17 AM

Got a ticket going 73 in a 55 :shakes head: but the cop that gave it to me was pleasant. No lectures or power trips. He just gave me the ticket and told me to ask about the military discount.

happytheman 04-14-2012 10:19 AM

Sorry about the ticket, but glad the dude wasn't a tool. :)

SPOHN 04-14-2012 11:18 AM

Ordered the Shine rear splats. My car really needed something back there to match the rest of my kit. Wanted to wait for something more aggressive but it really needs something in the mean time.

Fire 04-14-2012 11:43 AM

Hi guys. Sorry not on last night had a couple back to back ambulance calls and had our yearly physical at the fire hall this morning. No comment on the F1 posts, to me F1 is like fast cars with no passing. Like a 200 mph parade. Com on guys do some passing. Did watch the last laps of the NW race last night. Hey Lemers nice ZL1 reference. Reading posts on another forum nobody is getting much info on their orders. :shakes head:

kenchan 04-14-2012 12:09 PM

Wow. Nice pict mr.onzedge! Happy bday to your son.

Got my first service done today. 3 months into ownership and 1586 miles.

chops 04-14-2012 12:22 PM

DROVE MY Z TODAY. MOST EXCITING THING IN 2 MONTHS.

hehehe...i broke my foot 2 months ago and have been out of my cast for a week. been in rehab and i have enough dexterity in my right foot to operate the gas pedal now. still cant walk w/o the use of crutches, but i was able to take the z out of the garage and to grab some coffee with some friends. felt as exhilarating as the day i bought the car!

Lemers 04-14-2012 12:30 PM

After my ticket I went to the commissary. Who said this isn't a grocery getter?

http://img.tapatalk.com/adaccdfa-b3f6-037c.jpg

Over $200 of groceries fit in it

Nap time! Got the house dusted and vacuumed, got my cardio in, lunch made, ate, cleaned up... I'm ahead of schedule and I haven't been taped down to anything yet. :p

Glad I was able to help with your trim. I was afraid it was going to be your lug nuts all over again. I couldn't let that happen, it was too painful to watch. :rofl2:
