You see tons of more exotic cars before you will spot another "Z" ..and when you think you spotted one it turns out to be a 350..

The 370z is a rare creature.. they can only be found in the "wild" during our meets..... & when they run in herds the "Z" simply turns heads ...

Couldn't agree more. I always get people asking me at the traffic light "what car is this?" and right after they go "wow amazing looking car" if my blacked out tint windows aren't closed up.

I don't think is a sales issue, I just think not a lot people know the potential of this car. I confess, I myself didn't. People probably end up picking mustangs over the Z only because it's a more "popular" sports car and "well known" for it's power.
It's like apple computers back in the days. It has always been better computers than PCs, but people just didn't know it's potential.

If you search the site, you can find threads about the sales numbers of the vehicle. They are low.

I blame that mostly on advertising, or the lack thereof.

Most of the people I know who picked Mustangs over the Z did it because the car is "faster" and "costs the same". They are also more track ready and have greater tuning potential.

But I love my Z. Don't get me wrong. I just don't value the rarity of the thing. I like other Z owners. I wish there were more.

I personally blame the fuel starvation in right handers, the lack of adequate brake cooling, the oil overheating problems (esp on track), the excessively high rear diff temps on track, and the lack of a real lsd option, but that's just me.

I believe if Nissan invested 5% of the budget they allocated for advertisement on the Maxima/Altima line they would see a big increase in "Z" sales.. I agreee the sales # are low but that in return would mean fewer cars would be produced. This would also explain why you don't find a "Z" in every dealership. Same holds true for a GT-R. If you walk into a dealership looking for a Z or GT-R .. the salesman knows that you are ordering some thing from the "specialty" menu and you know what you want...

What we are toasting to the fact that the Z is an exceptionally beautiful car that can holds it own against other far more expensive/exotic cars.

IMO all American/German cars a dime a dozen in the US. The Japaneses flooded the low end market with "cheaper" cars but despite that the "Z" still holds a certain elite status here & abroad..

All cars have limitations.. We just choose to look at them as problems..... You can go on forever trying to "modify" a car to improve some perceived shortcoming.. Which really on circles back to the dealer coming out with the "next" years model with limitation/short coming improved upon (or so we hope) and when they don't move fast enough (one year) we take matters into our own hands with "3rd party" bolt-on etc... And even if the dealer did improve it, by nature we will always look for a way to squeeze 2 more drops of blood.. i mean HP/torque from the car...

Oh, I concur. The Z is gorgeous. You'll get no argument there.

Well, those specific limitations effect the track-ability of the car. In stock form, it is rather dangerous to take to a race track. And while that may not be a concern for many performance car buyers, it certainly is an issue to some. I'm getting ready to track my car. I've addressed the braking issues and oil heating issues as best I can. I'm hoping not to run into fuel starve on my first time out.

Advertising ? Uhmmm I don't know. GT-Rs aren't advertised and I'm starting to see them around more often. Perhaps more often than the Z.
I love to see other Z drivers however I LOVE to be the only one with the car driving around and receiving all the compliments.
Well thats why we have meets right. To gather every Z lover

That is so true! Granted, I live in a city of only 50k just outside of San Antonio, and I've only seen ONE other in town.. once. I've seen several 350s however. The only time I really see other 370s is when I go into SA for club and/or coffee meets.
