ok, so with all of this 35 years of experience, this is the best you can come up with? 3 pages of Cobb AP OTS maps? ONE of them shows a cobb map vs. a protuned map which for a STAGE 1 was over 321 wtq.

I will say again... get a clue and come back after you have done some real research and know anything about the car.

I would say its time you move on to the WRX forum, your really getting to the point of bashing members here.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, if your intent with the post is to get endorsement for your purchase, your barking up the wrong tree.

From my experience over the years I have found that its best to buy the highest hp. normally aspirated car in your budget. Extensively modifying or playing with the turbos can result in premature engine or tranny failures. Buying a $30-$40k car and then risking engine failures that may not be covered under the manufactures waranty is not my cup of tea.

As for my experience don't worry, when I need a help with my Hoover Vac or bird crap, dirty mags, then Wally World will have everything I need.

Enjoy your new WRX. My buddy has an 07 that he has dropped some money into over the years. It's pretty quick, reliable, and comfortable -- and it handles well in every type of weather.

You'll get haters, but anyone who knows cars will hear the boxer rumble and smile.

Also lol @ the posts saying you're taking a huge downgrade. Anyone who has been behind the wheel of one knows that it can be just as fun, especially in the parts of the country where you get four seasons.

Ignore the idiots telling you to get out, too. Once a Z owner, always a Z owner!

Thanks man... i'm definitely enjoying the car a lot. The boxer tone is certainly one i'm not used to, but it does sound rather awesome.

Here is a dyno database chart list... people can browse the owners and what mods they have and how much power they are putting down. People can select the 09 Z as well.

Dyno Database Online

now there are plenty of Z's on here with 310-320 whp and 250-260 wtq, there are none that high there... so with better exhausts and such the number have come up... or it could be the dynos used.

This is why I didn't want this to turn into a this car vs. that car... i'm happy with my choice... I was happy with my choice with the Z... and had we not gotten a house and needed a lower payment... I would have kept it and be perfectly happy. With having only 1 car and living in an area where we see snow sometimes, rain a lot, have 3 pit bulls, 1 Presa Canario that need to go to the vet sometimes... obviously a Z isn't going to cut it.

Funny thing I went to Loews around 8pm and took our old 2005 Nissan Sentra SE beater, ended up parking next to a late model WRX STI with the warrior wing on it .

On the way out, I had to laugh at how much the sentra and the wrx looked like the same type of car.

Seeing how you have a history of 4 door turbo compacts, the 370z was probably the wrong car for you. The wrx is probably a better move for you.

As you get older you probably move on to a European touring car like the Transporter.

As much as I like the 4 door touring cars made for their styling and convenience, the only way I could see myself , owning one is if they came with a hot asian porn star in the trunk, with every new car you bought.

Sports cars like the 370Z are really for a select crowd, and you either love them or hate them, I come from a flat track and sport bike racing background, so a sports car like the Z is perfect for me.

Back about 25 yrs. ago a motorcycle magazine did a test of what would be the perfect practical vehicles a guys garage, and they were a Toyota MR2, Honda Interceptor, 4x4 truck and some type of rear engine home build plane.

Always wanted to get a 300zx... I was close a few times, but it never panned out. They look good and still very modern even today. Just an awesome car. To bad that Nissan didn't have the turbo option from the factory with the 370. Would have really been cool even if a lot of us wouldn't have had the money... at least we could have gotten the old stuff from other guys who upgraded theirs

Congrats on your new car. The WRX is a nice sports sedan (though I would have gotten the STi if I was interested in a Subaru). I waited until I had a house and wife before I got a sports car and modded it. I guess you are doing it all in reverse, eh?

Enjoy the down-hill slide
