Bolt-on's just make it more in enjoyable to drive and a tad bit faster.. You want real power? The answer to that is quite obvious, but pricey

as others have said.

sell your nismo exhaust

get the LTH + another catback (FI or motordyne)

There is a FI exhaust on sale by boost_lee for 700 right now.

so 700 + LTH + install + selling your nismo should leave you with around 1k

get the NST Underdrive / over drive pulley kit and then get a custom tune = 3k.

No do not get the pullies they will throw off the balance of the motor!

FI Long Tube Headers and a good Exhaust I have HKS and a intake set up wether its Stillen or HPS tubes with K&N drop in filters the price is up to you....

Then get a tune and you will notice a difference.

where does it say they will throw off the balance?

you'd have to show an article or research showing that the OEM pulley is balanced per each individual motor...

There is a wealth of information available with some simple searching.

FWIW, I have always liked the sound of the FI resonated exhaust and the Ark 2v2.
He never said anything about sound, just about HP. So the responses he's getting are the most power gaining mods. If sound was an issue, then that would change things. (Although not really, I'm sure the same people will say F.I. sounds the best to them.)

I've had my pulleys on for 5k now and had Zero problems with vibration, noise, power loss, oil loss, grinding, or failure of any sort. And I was skeptical at first. But now, as long as they're installed properly, I see no problem with them.

Same advice here, it's not worth blowing $3k on mods to get more power, save your money or pay down the loan, then when ready buy a Z06 or GTR. Highly diminishing returns. On the factory car you benefit from the economics of mass production, for aftermarket mods you don't.

The Z is a bit underpowered, but it actually makes for a well balanced car, and it's satisfying to run it to the absolute max, which is possible on public roads. With a Z06 you'll never be able to hit the redline in 1-4 gears on a daily basis.

Exactly. NA power gains are always going to be a bad $/hp output.

If you can't go fast with 300 HP, 400 ain't going to help. Cost efficient power would have been a Mustang GT or used SBC car: those V8s are very good $/hp cars.

I drove an extremely well balanced car for 13 years prior to the Z. I also double WHP with a nice turbo kit. The extra go made me grin, but the balance was never the same as its underpowered beat on it and still not get arrested stock form.

GTM even actually posted some info on it as well stating that it would throw off the Harmonic balance of the motor, I will get you the info soon.

As I said, 5k+ mi and zero problems. Revs faster and smoother, no oil leaks, and no under/over belt tension. I don't see how this could damage the engine when installed properly. And I do believe it's also already been posted the VQ37 is not externally balanced.
