Rear diff to get it to the ground.

just because it says Nismo on it, it doesn't mean it'll offer you the best hp output

cossie1600 03-15-2012 07:35 PM

it sure is overpriced though

IMHO the only way to make huge gains is to add forced induction. My suggestion would be to save the money and then get a TT or SC.

Since you're in AZ, I'll tell you to do the same thing I did. Get the Fast Intentions Long Tube Headers + CBE. Sinze AZ has no emissions laws you dont have to worry about a sniffer test. That setup + install will run you ~ $2800ish. Sell the Nismo exhaust, add the total you bring in off of that plus the $200 leftover from your original 3k and get a tune. That's the best you'll be able to do with 3k.

I agree the best way to get decent HP out of the Z is to go FI, but on a 3k budget that's just not possible. You're looking at 10k at least to go FI. Not to maintain FI.

And in the end, you're still going FI in a manner of speaking.

Or you could a prude like me... and put the extra cash against your car note (if you have a loan)

TT's are more fun in this type of car. Actually a really good Single turbo setup would probably be real fun... but there hasn't been anything out there so far that sounds convincing to me.

The whole idea is kind of lacking. Albeit interesting, just not completely rational on a V6, Dual TB, Dual Exhaust car... :twocents:

I agree here. If it were a single throttle body it would be more feasible.

You probably should have asked this question before you bought the Nismo intake and exhuast. Those mods are not worth the money when others can be bought for cheaper giving better horsepower results.

I still can sell the nismo exhaust and the cold air intake can be returned but then which one a should get also what about big flow catalyzer tips please

No one can really help you pick out an exhaust setup since no one else can really know what you are looking in terms of sound. Some exhausts are louder than other, more raspy, etc. You just need to look around the site some, listen to some video clips and make your own decision.

There is a wealth of information available with some simple searching.

FWIW, I have always liked the sound of the FI resonated exhaust and the Ark 2v2.
