I dont know if that's what dealers call it. It's the term manufacturers use. Everything is based on # of days of "field stock". Basically the number of a certian vehicle that are on dealer lots and/or built and ready to be delivered to the dealer. The manufacturer bases the number on sales/orders and general inventory. If the vehicle isn't selling and they keep producing, then they are in a position of too much inventory (field stock). If that's the case, they then need to either, introduce incentives to encourage sales, or, scale back production.
