Greater risk of heat soak???... Or do you mean actually getting the correct IAT1 temp before it enters the TB? I'm guessing our cars also have a IAT2 or downstream air sensor as well to read the manifold temp so what does it matter? And if we don't, it needs to be placed as close to the TB as possible for accuracy.
