Nissan makes quality products no doubt, but its funny they say the 2009 is that reliable yet the steering lock and rear hatch issues are so apparent.

Had a the rear hatch stick a few times but never had a problem with the steering wheel lock. Or anything else for that matter.

Nissan hasn't recently stepped up their game and started to build quality cars with quality materials. I would say prior to 07 Nissan cars were very cheap and hard plastics. Now you step in a Maxima, a Murano, of course the Z you can feel quality materials. And from there the cars have become more reliable as they were known for many engine and mechanical issues.

TD uses way too small of a sample size and their methods results in far too much sampling bias for them to have any meaning

This is the statistic I have used to stress my argument about the Z being reliable. JD powers or consumer reports say things for political reasons. They will call an adjustment a repair then say a car is unreliable in order to give a corporate sponsor a higher rating. True delta is right from the consumers at hand and I trust these statistics way more than any other. I subscribe and I hope all of you do too.
Funny how they say the hyundai genesis coupe is more reliable than our cars but if you look??? Repair numbers is in the 50's. So is the camaro and mustang. Ours is 6 out of 100 last year is was 4 out of a hundred. NOT BAD. We fall in line with miata for reliability. Awesome.

Had mine since July 2009. Zero problems, zero issues, zero warranty problems.

Yeah, I'd say pretty reliable.

This is worthless. Ask any statistician, estimates without confidence intervals are meaningless.

The 370Z is pure sex! It is hot, loud, and rough!

Prior to 07, only Honda had quality interiors in a non premium brand. Lol. Everybody sucked. It wasn't until the refreshed G35x was being called as great a handler as BMW that nissan decided to take quality more seriously. It was said the G35x had comparable handling but a way inferior interior like the whole nissan line. Maxima was the only model with a nice interior. When nissan did it and sales began increasing. Everone else jumped on the wagon. But honda was the only one for years that had quality interiors since the early 90's throughout the lineup. Minus a base civic in those days.

I've had mine for a year and a half, 19 k miles and zilch issuses. I had an annoying rubbing sound behind the drivers door that went away with some silicone spray.

What about the floormats though, did they start to wear out? I hope my Z doesn't start to falter....
