Mild changes for 370Z question

the Nismo exhaust is only worth about 7hp over stock and in my opinion not worth the money you are going to pay for buying a used one with shipping.

I know you want a stock look but there are plenty of aftermarket choices that will give you 15hp over stock while not looking outrageous under your car.

Thanks for the reply and input. I knew the H exhaust would only give the 7hp. I had also read their is one additional bracket connection difference from standard exhaust. I was also thinking about a possible ECU swap if that was possible. For that 16, 18hp I am not sure the overall cost would be worth it those changes. I still think the dark gray 40th anniversary wheels might look clean with the magnetic black paint.

I mean this Z is just a summer non daily driver with very mininal drive miles. I bought the car in April 15, 2011 and it has about 1100 miles on it right now. I don't know I was just wanting a couple mild factory changes. Hping to see the a car with those dark gray wheels.

Honestly, if you're barely driving it an ECU swap is waaaaaaaaay more expensive than you need to go. Just look at getting a set of K&N Drop In Filters, a set of Z1 Post MAF Tubes, and a CBE. That will put you in the same arena as a Nismo, still looking stock, and if you'd like, get it tuned as well. All of this will cost you less than an ECU swap. Unless you meant ECU swap = Tune?

Thanks again for the replies guys. I really don't want to mod the car with aftermarket stuff at this point. The car has an factory gold extended warranty through the Santa Rosa dealership. I really don't want to piss around with voiding warranty issues etc. I guess I am not even sure at this point a nizmo ECU would void the cars factory warranty. I would think it shouldn't be an issue if done correctly.

Surely someone has put a set of the 40th anniversary wheels on a magnetic black car? anyone? Thanks guys for thoughts and options.

Yeah, they're not great (car was dirty when I took 'em, so I had to play with contrast), but I could take some mo' later.

Thanks man! I also have 10mm spacers all around; hopefully that helps you gauge the "flush-ness" of how you want your wheels. This set has become my winter setup, though, and more awesome things will arrive in the spring (along with the painted handles)!

Talk to your Service Manager. The one at my dealership loves to mod cars and honor warranty. I've also spoken to the owner, and he is fully supportive of mods when done by his crew. Of course this is Bruce Bennett Nissan, formerly Bob Sharp.
