Not hard or extensively enough to really make a comparison. NOW. Though the mustang is greatly improved. The mustang G's are .95g which is great for a car of that size. But that G, is a track recorded grip level. On the street, that same exact brembo'ed and suspensioned Z drops to .87g which again, .87g on the street is great. But the lowest out sport models get on the street is middle 90's. Our cars still corner way better. Our steering feel is way better. Turn in feels way more precise and and flatter. As good as the stang is its just not up to snuff in handling. But it does kick *** compared to its muscle bredrin.

lolwat?

And, in come the fanboys who are just as misguided as the OP

Let me get this straight - the problem with the 370Z is it's interior? :wtf:

IMO, the Z's interior is way better than the Mustang's...

Ummm... the Brembo car is not .87G... it's up there at .95 on the same skid pads they test the 370. Not sure where you're getting that from.

If we really want to get into this, the 370 does not "really corner better" than the Brembo 5.0... if it did then they wouldn't match times in the corners (excluding straights) and the 5.0 would not be right on the e92 M3's heels around a full course.

I've already shared my thoughts here comparing how both cars handle, so most of you know what's up.

I did say its .95 mustang on the track. Street driving and track measurements are different. The Z doesn't lose grip where the stang does "ON THE STREET". All you're doing is saying what I said and rewording it then arguing the wrong point. Anyway, the 87 is off track. The numbers come from a MT comparo when they did both maneuvers on street and track. Comparing pre 2010 mustang to the 2011. The pre 2010 broke .79 on the street and 87 on the skid. The 2011 broke .95 on the skid. .87g on the road. I haven't driven the brembo stang, but the 5.0 gt premium that is the same price as my current car. I felt Z handled better but the stang was good. How does the Brembo Z compare to a NISMO. The NISMO breaks up to 1.02g on the pad.Anyway,
"I'm sure if we FI'd the Z to 420hp/360lb torque, we'd be on the heels of an M3 as well. "
The camaro is faster than us around a track too... doesn't make the camaro a better handler. My guess is what you call better is the torque taking you out of the turn better than the Z and the chassis being balnced enough to absorb it. The ONLY way to really know? Is to FI the Z to the same power level as the stang and see how the Z responds coming out. Anyway, how many mustangs did you own before you bought a Z and went back to stang????

Go find it yourself you link happy freak....:rofl2:

QUESTION???

Does the Mustang Forum Suck that Bad that even After they buy a Stang they Stay here to Throw Mustang TidBits down to Z owners????? Or is it really some type of David Quoresh subliminal, force-feeding of mustang bullsh1t to boost sales and try to beat Camaro popularity???
Or is it you guys wish you guys kept your Z's but greatly wish you did a 5.0 engine swap and you're trying to beat 5.0 in our brains so someone will do it?
Or are you guys trying to master SUBLIMINAL-TROLLING????

I call all of the above.

Since these numbers are so fresh in your mind, it's obvious you must have a link to this test you are talking about, or at least have a copy of an MT magazine with this test in your possession. So share your source with us, why don't you?

I've searched everywhere and guess what? I can't find any "test" that does anything (for any car) to compare the street vs. track grip. And if it's recent enough to include the 2011 Mustang it would be available online.

With regard to power... if you FI the Z to the same power-to-weight ratio I am sure the track times would be similar.

How many Mustangs did I own? How is that relevant? How many Zs (including your totalled 370Z) have you owned before your current one? You're trying to insinuate that I am a Mustang fanboy, but it's very well documented on these forums that I am far from it. I'm a car guy that just happens to like Z cars and Mustangs. Sue me. You on the other hand have stated time and time again (the quoted post is no exception) that you are a fanboy. So, what exactly is your point?

It's pretty obvious what's going on here.

brucelidat 01-03-2012 03:57 PM

I think the guys who switched to 5.0s stick around because this is generally a great community with respectful enthusiasts. They usually stay objective with their comments and are not Z haters. Of the forums I've browsed, this one is the most mature and respectful, usually. Def way more so than bimmer forums...
