Am I the only one with the bad clear coat?

I think Nissan's clear coat isn't particularly resilient to acids. I got some nasty spots on my G35 from tree sap that wouldn't come off and damaged the clear coat,

I got some nasty spots on my G35 from tree sap that wouldn't come off and damaged the clear coat, yet my crappy Dodge truck was unaffected.
