I want to pull that quote from the bummer thread about how 60-120 is the only pull data that matters...and you might be able beat a gtr there

My thoughts exactly. It's the drivetrain and tranny that makes the GTR so amazing. Sure you can match the GTR in HP but you're not going to put down that power like the GTR does.

The Juke R looks sweet! It looks like they've completed the conversion but they haven't put out any videos of its performance...I can't wait to see how it does.

Yep, on street tires the only way to keep up with the high HP AWD cars from a dig is to be in your very own high HP AWD car!

The ZR1 is bloody fast in a straight line, but it needs more than 1/4 mile to be able to beat a GT-R. It traps quite a bit higher than Godzilla but it doesn't have enough track to pass it.

Just imagine, putting $50,000+ into ones driving skills, vs the delta between 370 and GTR.

I know I'd enjoy the spending the money more on permanent skills and fun at the track, than a depreciating asset.

The GTR does kick arse.

VR38 and VQ35HR side by side comparison : Injected Performance Blog

long story short, hardly anything translates over from the VQ37HR to the VR38DETT. like MC said, the oil dipstick is about it

I seen this race happen in person. The ZR-1 does nothing in the quarter mile. It will take a one mile stretch for the ZR1 to make the GTR look weak. At around the half mile mark the vette superchargers kick in and just take off on the GTR making the GTR look underpowered and worthless. But who races more than a quarter mile on the drag strip????
And on a track? I think the GT-R will take a ZR-1 as well.

that is not how a supercharger works. that's the point that the power-to-traction ratio starts to favor the ZR1 where it isn't spinning but is able to put down the extra hundred horses in a much lighter car and pull ahead. up until that point it's fighting with traction control (or launch control really). as the R35 GTR creeps up in hp every year, i'd be curious to see how it stacks up it's last year of production. if it's pushing closer to 600hp it might actually stand a chance of beating the ZR1, if not it'd be damn close i'm sure

I'm not really sure it will take a full mile. The two cars are usually within a car length or two at the end of the 1/4 mile, with the ZR-1 trapping a few MPH faster than the GT-R. So it would start to pull it beyond that point. I'd say you only need a half mile stretch.

And whether anyone races like that or not is beside the point. It's just a hypothetical comparison.

They are close, for sure. The GT-R is an amazing car on the track. With its suspension and electronic controls it just defies physics.
